Comment:
If Dr. Cernik gives you a book suggestion, it's always a great one, so definitely take his appreciating political books class. He's very easy to get along with so long as you do what is asked of you in the assignments and avoid needless chatter. Small talk is useless to him, but don't be afraid to ask how you can do better!

Terrible. If you're studying Political Science, you probably can't avoid him. Does not have an open mind, but he does have a foul mouth. He's an entertaining guy, but definitely not the best class. He takes attendance every day but does not grade it. I suggest skipping every day unless a paper is due. The examinations are terrible but easy.

Dr. Cernik is one of the best professors of Lindenwood! He is clever, has a LOT of experience (from local/state govt's to Wall St.), and is extremely funny! You've got to work for it, but his grading system is clear, he's helpful, and you will actually learn a LOT from his class! His lectures usually end at least 10min earlier and are never tiring!

Comment:
Dr. Cernik is a pretty interesting and peculiar professor. He's pretty straight-forward to whatever he does and requires, so there's no confusion in his class. Once you fit in what he asks and understands the format of the class, it's easy to get things going smoothly. Lots of reading (books), but nothing impossible. Nice character!

Dr. Cernik is extremely knowledgeable. He is passionate about the subjects that he teaches and he is available to answer questions. You will read three books, write two research papers, two exams consisting of a book note and lecture essay, and a book note each week. Take notes, read the books, and you will get an A.

I have not found interest in politics previous to this class, though, Mr.Cernik was actually a very nice and intelligent man who had to deal with a lot of childish people in the class. Essays were often due at least once a week. I worked very hard through the class and received an A. I really liked how we had very similar views.

Cernik is awesome. Most of his courses have the same outline. Once you figure out and get comfortable with the structure, you're set. Do the reading, pay attention to lectures, and write well (especially opinions). You will learn the most from this professor than any other at Lindenwood. You dont HAVE to go to class everyday, but you should. Enjoy.

He is really hard. It's a ton of work, lots of reading and the exams really ask a lot. He knows his stuff, but his lectures are repetitive about TV. We get it.

Cernik was a hard professor, but he knows his stuff. Listen to him, and if you don't understand just ask. He's always happy to clarify. Not the easiest class, but not hard either.

If you look at the reviews of Cernik you will notice one common theme, 100 and 200 level classes tend not to like him because they are not use to college and still enjoy being "babied". The fact is that Cernik is not going to do that, come to class or don't, but one thing you cannot say is he doesn't know his material.

Dr. Cernik is an excellent Poli Sci professor. All of his classes are very simlpe. Read books and articles and write a paper every two or three weeks. He gives you all of the assignments on the first day. Classes are kept short and to the point. Do the work and get an A. Very straight forward.

Professor couldn't make class any easier. He talks the whole class and doesn't ask questions. You read three books write an essay that he tells you exactly what it is from day one and a couple of case studies. Unless you are a complete moron you'll pass his class.
