Dr. Harrigan is an awesome prof! His classes are super straight forward and he gives great examples for the assignments in 2250 and 2260. He is also very nice and gives good class updates!

Prof is almost non-existent. If you want answers, reach out to the TA. Beware of the SPSS projects. Rubric is vague, it is intimidating. Quizzes for each week, worth about 2-8% each. Final exam worth 40%. READ THE TEXTBOOK. The profs notes do NOT covering everything. Good luck.

The most challenging part of the course was the research paper, but even that had a very clear rubric that made it easier to write. There were several practice quizzes and exams that helped a lot on the final, and if you read the assigned chapters and course notes you'll have no problems on the quizzes or final exam!

This course was extremely demanding and required a lot of time, especially for the research paper that was worth 25%. The reason this course was difficult was because we had to learn SPSS by ourselves with absolute no guidance by the prof! actually, the prof was absent this whole term. thanks to our groupchat & TA I got the mark that I did

Class if very straight forward. Be expected to know the text material for quizzes and final exam. Final project will take a lot of time, but will be graded fairly. Be prepared to learn the SPSS portion of the class through youtube videos by yourself. Overall enjoyable class.

I would say that this prof definitely isn't the best in communicating with the students, but his notes and testing is very straightforward. If you keep up with the class, you have a very good chance to do well. To be honest, it is a distance course so I wasn't too surprised by the lack of communication. His quizzes and exams are very fair as well.

Overall if you are a strong independent learner this class is a great fit. Very straightforward and simple, all of his practice material is very useful for study guides. Both he and the TA are very easy to reach for any questions. The format of the course is very easy to follow. The grading is also very fair. I highly recommend this class :)

Still waiting on assignment mark. Research assignment was difficult but TA was helpful. Gave us the tools to do well in this course. Notes clear, practice tests helpful. Never had to reach out to him so cant speak on the helpfulness of his responses. My only critique is that I wouldve appreciated more guidance when it came to using SPSS.

He provided so many sample tests/exams that were incredibly helpful for the final. In terms of an online, distance-education course this was exactly what I expected from my professor. He answered all my emails in less than 24 hours and responded to an email I sent him during our online, open-book exam immediately. Great experience!

He is very ABSENT. The TA had to take over the entire course during the semester. She was the only one answering my emails. If emailed, he replied rudely as if we were really dumb. Example: I asked if paper was double spaced. He said Haha follow APA. We received 35% of our mark before the exam. If you can take it with a different prof.

Toms is generally absent throughout the entirety of the term, which made the course just a little bit more difficult. However, the class in itself i found to be very organized and easy to follow. The material was quite easy and the quizzes were exactly the same as practice ones. I'd recommend this class for those who are confident self learners.

While I knew that this would be a distance ed class, this prof was not present AT ALL during the semester. Would not reply to emails in a timely manner and if he did, only with a few vague words. I'm sure he's a great person, but not a good professor as everything was left to you and he did not do anything to engage the class.

Youtube taught me more about this class than the prof. He didn't teach us anything, sucked at responding to emails, quizzes were automatically graded and it sounds like the amazing TA did most of the grading for the assignment. What is this guy getting payed for? Am I paying just to teach myself or what? Maybe he's better in person, cause DANG!

One of the worst profs at UofM. He was absent 99% of the semester and whenever he wasn't, he was rude and very vague with his responses, especially in emails. The TA may as well have taught this course because she contributed more to our learning and understanding than he did. Would not recommend taking him and avoid him at all costs.

So many quizzes worth 2-3% each for a total of 35% of the final grade. Super detailed research paper worth 25% that stressed me out beyond belief. He didn't even answer questions regarding the paper properly or in a timely manner, few words at most and they were very vague. Hard to reach. This course was by far the most time consuming of all.

ok so lets just start off by saying that this class was taught by the TA and not Tom himself. I think I may have heard from him once or twice during the entire semester. His absents in the course was just ridiculous. On top of that, when you do hear of him, he doesn't give of a good vibe at all.

Comment:
Dude was completely absent throughout the entire semester. While I knew it was distance ed., he wasn't able to provide much for me that wasn't already in his notes... It doesn't seem like he cares at all about his students or how they do in the course - every man for himself vibes. Please don't take this course with him if you don't have to.
