Try to go to as many classes as you can, it is easier to absorb the information if you go. It is not hard, but you have to put in some effort. She is really good about clarifying her essay expectations but you have to ask her. Wonderful professor, but she marks essays kind of hard, so pay attention to your grammar! If you are lazy, you will do bad.

Very poor. I've been in school for 3 years and done very well in all my class other than hers. If she decides not to like you, don't expect a good mark in this class. Don't take this class with her.

A fun class, taught by someone with a definite point of view on the subject. Lots of small group work within the class, which was a bit tedious, but the other assignments (done outside class) are not like any other papers I've had to write (and that's a good thing!). Wendy is liberal and outspoken, and one of my favourite profs in the department.

AWESOME teacher!and her dark sense of humor makes this class even better. I thought i would hate this class, but she made me love it with her liberal approach and easy going attitude! You HAVE TO keep up with the readings, if you do easy A! It helps to have a "note buddy" sometimes you miss a bit here an there. Highly recommend her!

I really enjoyed her lectures. She is a really hard marker though so you need to read and know your stuff. But overall, I really liked her and she is pretty friendly.

She knows what she is talking about, but does tend to ramble on and on and you can get pretty bored half way into the class. She has some interesting things to say and ways to say it, overall a pretty decent prof.

Good prof, the only thing is, if you are painfully shy/hate group work, you probably wouldn't like her class, because she will often assign small group assignments, like partner up with the person sitting next to you and discuss a topic, that sort of thing. I personally really like her as a teacher, she is friendly and approachable as well.

Her cynicism made the class that much more interesting. I don't know about the hard marking bit. I did real well in her class myself. I would recommend her to anyone interested in the social Sciences. She will recommend a more useful degree :)

I can't understand how people can actually take a class from her. Her voice and the way she talks is one of the most anooying thing on earth. Her "ahhh" on the end and between sentences that comes out of her mouth are, literally, damaging my ears. It could've such an interesting class (mass media), but because of her, I'm out! Avoid her if you can!

Lots of emphasis on the readings -- keep up w/ them, you'll need to reference them (not formally!) on the midterm and final. Also, you'll lose marks if an essay is short. Always willing to help students (myself included). A very sassy, outspoken lady -- I can see why some people may not like her, but she is my favourite Soc prof so far!

Wendy is a great professor. Albeit opinionated, her opinions are informed and she is very knowledgeable in this field. Anyone who didn't like her just wasn't at her level. Her papers are hard, only if you don't know how to write. She is a sassy woman, I admire her!

I am currently halfway through this class. As someone with strong beliefs regarding feminism, I have often had them trampled on, mocked, and rebuked.I do not feel I can express my opinion in class, because of her bitter, cynical attitude towards anything that is not liberal feminism. I would not recommend this class or this professor to anyone.

Her notes are terrible, she speaks for so long then she realizes her slide that is up has nothing to do with what she is talking about. Her questions in this class were very text book orientated. Her marking is more on grammar then the subject you are writing on. Take only if you have no choice.

Wendy is a very responsible prof in that she knows her material, teaches it well, is always willing to help outside of class and encourages participation from the class. There's nothing hard about her, that is unless you are afraid to ask for clarity or help. She's solid!

Comment:
Horrible prof, very disorganized, she said um and ah constantly or about 3-5 times before formulating a sentence. Plus she looks at the roof when she talks so if you have your hand up she won't help you because she won't see your hand. It was so distracting an annoying with her looking at the roof, I didn't learn a thing.

Comment:
Thoughts are not presneted clearly at all, consistantly uses the word 'ah' after each word, doesn't make eye contact nor give early notice if she will not be attending. Very sexest, feminist, and marks very unreasonably. All in all...avoid all classes taken by her.
