Dr. Bell is overall a good professor. She's there when you need her... just VERY confusing about assignments. The whole class will get something wrong and we won't be able to fix it because of her unclear expectations. PEER REVIEWS thought the entire semester. Pretty much what her class consists of. Only 1 actual paper the whole year.

Not clear on what she wants unless you go to her office hours. Make sure you keep everything until the end of the semester and are never late to her class

I found her to be extremely rude and not helpful at all. She loved to say that I "didn't get" the assignment, but then wouldn't say anything but "read the assignment again." I went to her for help all the time, and she merely said I didn't understand it. I consistently got the lowest grades in the class, while asking for help the entire time.

Sweet lady, helpful most of the time. Some things she isn't too clear on but it's usually fine. Do your work and you will get an AB.

Awful teacher. She does not give any feedback on assignments or clear explanations of what she wants. Also, her web courses is super confusing and it's nearly impossible to receive a 100 on any assignment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

She's very nice and helpful if you ask her for help, but very vague on her instructions and will penalize you grade wise if you dont give her exactly what she wants. not an "easy A" but not impossible. a lot of work and writing assignments. can't be lazy and expect a good grade form her.

NO NO NO NO NO! I STRUGGLED hard in this class and would cry in frustration to her vague expectations and direction. I tried SO hard in this class and event went to meet with her for help, but she is very confusing and vague about what she wants. DO NOT take her Arg Writing class. If you do, I warned you.

I took her ENC1101 class in honors. Terrific professor! She was helpful and always clarified any questions I had. Four major papers in the class with little assignments mixed in. Some modules were given to read from, but they weren't difficult. I would definitely recommend her, especially if you are majoring in the English program.

Worst professor I've ever had at UCF. Clearly she knows her stuff, but she's unwilling to share her knowledge with her students. Instead, she stands around looking arrogant, waiting for someone to explain something they haven't learned yet. She then does not give definitions or examples, but posts unhelpful links on webcourses.

She is passionate about writing and rhetoric and knows how to teach. The class was not easy and did require a bit of work, but it is not overwhelming should one stick to the assignment schedule which she provides. Dr. Bell is a smart and helpful instructor. Take her class.

I took her Honors ENC 1102 class. It was fairly easy. She lets you revise your essays(there are 4) so it is easy to get an A. She also has a few extra credit opportunities. She is very helpful and nice. However, her directions aren't always clear. Also, she takes attendance. You will need the textbooks, except don't buy the Everyday Writer.

The only wy to get a good grade is to suck up to her. She will meet with you after class to help, but wouldn't really do much because "it's not my assignment. I can't do it for you." The sentence structure assignments are pointless, as are a lot of the assignments. If your interesting in magazine writing, take a journalism class instead.

I took doctor bell for english I. She is strict and fair. There is about 2 pages due every classl as long as you do a good job proofreading and editing is not really essential. Getting an A is definately possible and if you struggle at English there is many opportunities to bring your grade up. Easy pass if you do your work, but hard to get an A

She is helpfull n will without a doubt prepare you for the magazine writing world out there. Go to class, do your pieces. Result:good grade n awesome learning exp

Knowledgeable teacher. However, I took her class online and when I asked for clarification on an assignment she simply responded to double check the info on webcourses... Very unwilling to help. Her expectations for time spent on an assignment are outrageous. The assignments themselves are too vague.

I don't recommend this prof to anyone. Her expectations for students are unrealistic. The workload she assigns is insane. If you're a FT student and work or have other obligations, her class is near impossible to keep up with. I was spending 9-12hrs/week on her class alone. This was the only class I had to drop in all 3 years I've been in college.

In-class work is almost non-existent; however, work outside of class is very, very time consuming. She is a very strict grader and does not take kindly to absence. Definitely picks favorites, so get on her good side if you plan on getting an A in this class. She is, however, very helpful if you go to her office hours.

I took this class online. I found Dr. Bell's assignments to be very clear and she was always willing to allow me to email her for clarification. She does grade really tough, and she demands excellent quality on all the assignments, which are difficult (especially the forum). But I learned a lot and I would asbsolutely take her again.
