I felt like I was taking AP english all over again- LOTS of reading and then you just discuss the poems/stories in class. That's all this class consisted of. Only one paper which he graded easily on, and a few discussion board posts that were easy. His lectures are all over the place, but he is actually a really funny guy. And he's so adorable!

Webster is a good guy who really cares about this material. I did not care at all about this stuff, but Webster made it interesting when I managed to stay awake. He gives amazing feedback on papers and allows you to redo most of them. At one point, I was struggling to understand the meaning behind a poem and he spent over an hour helping me.

This class would be great if someone else taught it. He is very distracted and disorganized. Assignments, expectations, and rubrics are unclear. His lectures are boring and do not help explain the text. I genuinely think he doesn't understand mythology either. I couldn't stay awake in this class without coffee.

There was so much reading, the class was just him rambling the entire time, and he was a really tough grader. He doesn't put anything into blackboard so you just have to guess your grade. He also took a long time to discuss and grade things so we always got behind in class. He's a nice enough guy, but I would not recommend this class or professor.

He doesn't put your grade in Blackboard until the very end of the semester. He is a very tough grader but does give a good amount of feedback on your paper. Doesn't give quizzes just grades you on writing responses and exams. The exam involves memorizing poetry (which I think is pointless) and writing an essay. He is passionate about poetry though.

DO NOT TAKE THIS SEQUENCE!!! The class is horrible, and Professor Webster seems to top it off. He doesn't use Blackboard so you have no grade all semester until he puts in your final grade, which cannot be changed after that. His syllabus doesn't equate to the average grade. Only good thing about the man is he allows rewrites.

Professor Webster is a quirky old guy. He tends to go off on tangents and mumbles to himself, but his personality makes the class enjoyable. Tough grader, but allows rewrites on all papers. Grade is based off of in-class participation, 2 papers, a midterm, and a final. Doesn't use BlackBoard so you have to keep track of your grade yourself.

Quirky old man. Honestly kind of funny. Grades based upon very few items, 2 papers, a midterm, a final, and some in class writings. Is a pretty fair grader. Allows and encourages rewrites.

I could honestly use his voice to fall asleep. He genuinely loves talking about all things English but tends to ramble on and on while providing very little relevant information. Easy grader on papers which is good because we receive very few guidelines on what to write. Good luck!

Michael Webster LOVES to lecture but it's only because he has SO much knowledge on everything. The reading and homework is pretty consistently bad but there are only 2 papers and 2 exams- all of which can be aced if you prepare and listen in class. The class wasn't super engaging but it was mostly enjoyable and I do strongly recommend the sequence.

Very lecture heavy and although he seemed to go off track at times, he was very easy to listen to and was pretty funny. He made literature more enjoyable and his assignments were just small papers for each reading we did. Midterm and final were very easy if you did the reading and took good notes, which can be used for exam. He is a cute old man!

I personally found mythology to be a very interesting subject, so I found his class and lectures very interesting and entertaining. Mythology is a tough subject to make interesting and I think he really makes it fun! Reading and writing assignments are always assigned but very easy. Like I said, if you find mythology intriguing, you will do fine!

Professor Webster takes a boring subject and makes it even worse. He rambles on and on and on, not teaching you a single thing. He grades essays hard. His exams are complete BS (quote identification- aka the hardest thing ever). The only good thing about his class was that you barely had to do the reading because he would forget to talk about them.

Professor Webster takes a seemingly boring subject and creates interest with his enthusiasm and passion for English. You barely need to do the readings, just make sure you participate in the daily writing assignments and you'll do fine. EASY midterm and final. 1 paper due after the midterm. He's super laid back and adjusts the course to fit the class. Definitely recommended.

I had him as a professor for World Lit and I really enjoyed the class. He's very lax with his writing assignments, and gives you every opportunity to improve your own grade if you don't like how you're doing. It's pretty much impossible to do poorly in his class. He gets a little off topic in class discussions, but he's a really great professor.

I didn't like prof. webster at first but towards the end of the semester I really enjoyed him. He is very eclectic and funny. He's a cute older man who often wears bucket hats to class. He knows a lot about myth and is very passionate about it. I never read the texts and did fine. Tests are open note. You do small writing assignments every class.

I dreaded attending this class every week. The lectures were very boring and tests were tedious. Not a particularly hard grader on tests, but the class was just painfully dull.

Comment:
He constantly gets off topic and makes no sense. There are writing assignments in each class that you get to work with a group on, that is the only way he keeps tabs on attendance. The quizzes and exams were open note, but were still more in depth then he told us they would be.
