Comment:
Took his class online due to COVID. You can tell he's very kind and passionate about his job and subject, but often goes down irrelevant rabbit trails during lectures. The quizzes were also a bit unfair, including questions about the authors of books or Bible verses he mentioned. Often instructions on assignments were rather vague.

David is probably the worst teacher I have had at TWU. He wastes time on personal stories and rambles on about things that are not relevant. Then his grading scale is whack, like read 80 pages of the textbook for a quiz worth 1%. The lab is even worse. I lose brain cells taking his class. Take bio with literally any other teacher and save your time

Dr. Clements is a good guy - he is approachable and kind and also funny. Im not a science major but I found his lectures interesting. Most of his tests are relatively easy, however, there is a lot of memorization. He is willing to help and answer questions, and hes not a very tough grader for the most part. I would definitely recommend!

Incredibly funny guy. quizzes are online and he will test on ANYTHING. This includes quotes, book titles, and bible verses so be prepared to recognize them (especially on the midterm). Take note of textbook figure numbers he uses in the powerpoints, as he also quizzes on these as well. Reading the textbook is a good idea as it provides more info

He's funny, kind & sincerely cares about students. Assignments explained in depth in syllabus & during lecture. He tells personal research stories in lectures. There are 5ish online quizzes about textbook and lectures, so keep up with reading. Doesn't mark too hard, though the exam was difficult. Weight of grade shared w lab. Bonus marks.

Great guy, really loves his students and cares a lot. But he is a tough grader for a foundations class because he seems to expect different papers from what his instructions say. The times I followed his instructions I did mediocre, and the times I didnt follow them I did very well. Takes attendance seriously!

Dr. Clements is a very caring and funny prof who is very enthusiastic about the course material. This class requires a lot of memorization. If you miss a class you will not have the notes. He makes the material interesting and provides a lot of examples, videos, and verses to help you remember (he tests on these examples, videos, and verses).

Worst class i have ever taken. Im a biology major and he does not know how to teach biology. Notes are unorganized and dont really reflect on the exams, marking guide is tough, doesnt specify want he wants in a paper. Horrible class but nice guy. Never again.

Dr. Clements is a great guy; he has a great personality and is super funny but often gets horribly distracted in class and doesn't properly cover testing materials. He also requires you to find questions from each chapter that is not answered in the book and post it though he tests from powerpoint which are not online and you must take notes on.

Dr. Clements is an amazing teacher who becomes closer to a friend the more you get to know him. He is v caring and loves getting to know his students. Bio 113/114 are pretty basic for first year courses, but they do cover a lot. I did not read the textbook, but if you do it would help a lot. DC is the bomb, srsly though... 10/10 would recommend.

Good person but terrible teacher. Lectures are hard to follow and does not cover the textbook material. His notes are unorganized, might as well make your own. You definitely need to spend a considerable amount of time on your own since he does not cover much details in lectures. Even the exams includes a lot of off-textbook material, so be aware.

He is a fair grader, yet is not clear about the objectives of the course and organized in what information students need to memorize. Barely uses the textbook (only for information for a group project) and integrated too many random snippets of his own life with content material. Lectures were difficult to follow and there was no flow between them.

Clements is so nice. If you know his notes completely and know the textbook figures, you'll do well. He gives lots of extra credit. The way he writes his multiple choice is a bit confusing, but not too bad.

It's clear Dr. Clements is passionate about what he teaches. I really enjoyed his lectures and learned a lot, but his exams are a little ridiculous. Class attendance is essential as he will test you on small facts brought up in lectures. Take advantage of practice tests. Don't even bother with main textbook, he doesn't touch it.

Nice guy, not much coverage of material. I was a bit disappointed, since I really like the biology this course covers, and a lot of the teaching was really off topic. Bible verses and other minorish details on the exams, everyone!

Great guy to learn about bio from - he loves the stuff! For exams, know his notes in detail if you want an A - see his practice quizzes for sample questions. The lab for this course is pretty intense in terms of details, but it can be fun if you're into it.
