He is literally one of the best professors at Winthrop. He's definitely chatty but it was by far one of my favorites and I'm not even an anthropology major.

Thought anthropology would be something cool to study for a required credit. I was absolutely wrong. Yes, it is an easy A. No, you do not need the textbooks (everything you need is online if you look). Do not take him if you are looking for a fun class to get by for those gen eds. Not worth it.

He's hilarious. I'm not an Anthropology student and I wanted to take some classes to fill my roster and this was the best happenstance professor I've ever had. He's super sarcastic and interesting to listen to in class. Also, unimportant, but he sounds just like Seth Rogan

I hated this class. I dreaded it. He only wants to talk about himself and his studies that aren't relevant to the class or the test. It's a gen ed requirement and I wish I could've taken something else. Not a hard class, I just genuinely hated every second of the classes. Super boring and painful.

Dr. Woodfill is newer to Winthrop but he is a GREAT ADDITION to the Anthropology Department! He is very down to earth and has great lectures. Considering he has not taught much policy of Archaeology in a classroom setting, he has done a great job. His tests are okay, make sure to know chronological order and names of people. Study guide is given.

Dr. Woodfill is a RARE FIND!! He is passionate about what he does, quirky, and hilarious. He is super laid back and down to earth. If you get easily bored however, the class is full of extreme details about Meso American culture and the lectures tend to be a bit long and you might feel sleepy. He is great overall!

Definitely try to atleast skim the textbook before exam. Tests aren't awful at all but he doesn't give anything away, and studyguides are provided. Really interesting class and he has a lot of outside experience which calls for some interesting stories.
