Comment:
Dr.Dimitri is the worst professors I've taken ever. His lectures consist of him point a ruller at a power point and explaining poorly what is happening (i.e. no working out examples). All homework and tests are given threw Webworks, an awful website that if you are incorrect there is no explanation, cheg is the only resource that will help. Sad

I mean, he cares about what he's teaching, and as long as you stick it out, he won't let you fail. But don't expect top quality instruction.

his version of teaching is reading a powerpoint version of the textbook in class. homeworks were never graded and given back so we had no idea if we were doing things correctly. first exam average was below a 40. second exam was so bad he had to let us do corrections and by the third exam over 50% of the class had dropped. TERRIBLE DO NOT TAKE

His lectures a really theory heavy and he doesn't work many examples in class. He does offer a lot of extra credit for attendance and training sets. His tests are open notes and very similar to the homework. As long as you can do the homework you will be fine. The lectures can be a little confusing and you will have to learn things on your on.

Comment:
He reads off a PowerPoint with "excerpts" from the text book. The lectures are basically meaningless. It is a pretty frustrating experience taking his class, as you are always struggling to understand what he is even talking about, and retain nothing from the course. However, his classes are fairly easy to receive A's in, as long as you work ~hard.

Dr. Volchenkov is very nice. He doesn't do a lot of examples, lecture consists of him going over powerpoint slides taken from the textbook. Tests and final exam are open book. But everything is on webwork so no partial credit. If you can do the HW you'll make an easy A on tests since tests are very similar to HW. I recommend going to SI sessions.

DOES NOT DO EXAMPLE PROBLEMS. Everything is graded on webwork, which is good if you don't want to show work. However, this class was made way harder than it should have been simply because the final exam is 40% of overall grade. This class could have been held completely online, and YouTube taught me more than the professor.

Comment:
I tried so hard to understand the information in this class. I thought my grade was on web work showing an 89%. However when the final grading was posted he gave me a C saying that webwork did not show our grade. He never posted my actual grades on Blackboard and when I asked him about my grade he was very rude about it and acted like I was stupid.

Comment:
This class is very difficult. I would recommend trying to get another professor, but Volchenkov is ok. He can be hard to understand at times and tends to blow through his lectures very quickly.
