Dr. Anderton is very passionate about what he teaches. I really liked going on the outside field trips to supplement what we had learned in class. I didn't use the book at all... we had no exams. Grades are based off your big project/paper at the end of the year.

He knows his stuff, but unless you are really interested in the subject it's not a fun class. take good notes and pay attention to the videos, because those are where he gets all of his questions from. don't bother buying the book, i didn't even open mine.

Dr. Anderton is very passionate and knowledgeable about Geography. This class consisted of exams and extra credit quizzes. The exams in this class are somewhat difficult but the extra credit made up for it. Go to class and study for exams and you shouldn?t have a problem getting a good grade.

Great professor! Intro to Soils,is one of the best classes I have ever taken, and I highly recommend that anyone in the Environmental field take his class. The quizzes and tests are very challenging - think conceptually. The labs are fun, and you will learn a lot about how our local landforms were developed.

If you are not required to take this class, don't bother. Dr. Anderton always seemed unprepared for class to begin, and he never really takes the time to answer questions properly. Just a boring class all together.

I have to say I am not thrilled with this class. It's the final geo course for my degree and I was really looking forward to it until it started. The teacher always seems unprepared, and the discussion topics are boring. I just want it to be over!!

This professor really has an understanding of his subject. That being said he doesn't seem to care about teaching it to us! He's boring, tells bad stories and doesn't answer questions fully. And it takes forever to get grades back.

Seems like a nice guy but I found him to be boring and uninspiring. He tries too hard to be everyone's friend which just comes off as cheesy. If you are looking for a class that will challenge you, look elsewhere.

Dr.Anderton is probably one of my favorite professors i've had at NMU. he really knows his subjects and is good at explaining things. If you need help he will make sure you understand the subject. he also has some funny, but corny jokes that will make you laugh.

Dr. Anderton has become my favorite professor at NMU. He is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about any curriculum he teaches which rubs off on the class. Bottom line..he's there for the students and their success. Not many tenured and salaried profs will use a day off for a class field trip! Great prof and person.

He is not that much tuned with the class and over burden with other things. He goes fast through the slides and since his slides are wordy , it is hard to take notes.

Professor Anderton was a great professor. It wasn't always easy to understand what he was trying to get across right away, but as long as you asked he would explain it until everyone understood. If you need geography credit I would recommend taking one of his classes!

Really nice guy. Class is usually very interesting, can be a little hard to follow at times, and has a more off the wall sense of humor. I did learn a lot from the class. 6 total tests in the semester 1/2 lab 1/2 lecture, be prepared to study.
