He makes you feel extremely uncomfortable and is always talking about dating. He thinks he's the best writer in the world and critiques you heavily. I thought I was doing well in his class since I was in the best group, but I only got a B. Its just an awkward class and wasn't a good time.

Professor Solomon is my favorite professor at UT. Hes tough but fair, and you will learn more with him than any other professor at the school. If youre looking for the easiest A, you might want to look for another professor.

This guy ruined my GPA, DO NOT TAKE HIM. The worst English professor I have ever had. He just gives a grade without any explanation! He thinks he is the best professor when in reality he isn't.

Solomon is awesome. Any chance to take him, do it. So knowledgeable and passionate, plus he's pretty funny. NO HOMEWORK, NO TESTS/QUIZZES, NO PAPERS. literally the midterm and the final were the only grades in the class. The exams were quote identification and one essay question. Easy if you come to class and read the plays.

I took this professor earlier in my college career. He seemed to be more focused on his own life and work than our work. Told us off the bat that most of us were terrible writers-it's only 101-and refused to give any other reason than that for a grade. Overall, he did keep class interesting and was knowledgeable but had a lousy attitude sometimes.

Has a lot of knowledge in good writing and a great amount of professional experience as a writer. Extremely GENEROUS, kind, TAKES THE TIME TO GIVE PAPERS BACK THE NEXT WEEK. A truly great Professor with a lot to share about what he knows, rarely holds class til the end.

Nice man, definitely knows a lot about Shakespeare. Midterm and final counts for all of your grade. Teaches class in a good way, going through the plays via audio and video and his own reading. However you can't have your own opinion of the characters or plays if it differs from his. He will mark you down on exams if you do

He's one of my favorite professors. He clearly loves writing and wants to make everyone a better writer. I've learned a lot in his class, but you don't have to do much. We only had to write 2 graded essays aside from the final. Not a huge fan of people who don't speak English as their first language though. Otherwise, fantastic teacher.

He's such a nice teacher! i loved every moment of his class and i would do anything to take another of his classes any day and time! he knows what he's doing and he really does help you discover yourself through your 3 journal entries! he tells you, "i won't sugar coat it because i know you can do better" when it comes to your final project

Pretty cool professor. Very relaxed and goes with the flow. He's willing to help with anything. Your grade's based on 2 submitted journal entries (he gives you questions to answer) and a 30 page story. If you show that your willing to work, you'll get a good grade.

I took Intro to Shakespeare with Prof Solomon. I loved Shakespeare before his class, and thought I had a great knowledge of it. But Soloman knows so much! You need to read the plays to do well. Sweet guy, really wants his students to succeed.

Awesome professor to take for FYW 101. Very easy. No quizzes or tests. No need to buy the "required" illustrated novel Persepolis because he didn't feel the book was college level. Easy pass if you put good effort in the only two assigned essays. Highly recommended for the non english majors.

Two tests for the whole semester. Midterm worth 40% and final worth 60%. The tests are composed of identifying quotes from the different shakespeare books and writing a essay and you have NO idea what it is going to be about. No homework, projects, or papers. Read all the books in class. Great teacher, tests suck!
