He really is the usual CS prof at MUN. You read all the other ratings and it just sounds like students didnt expect that second year is actually harder than first year lol. He marks pretty easily if you do everything he says. With online school he only reads lectures but he will explain if you ask. Really just the usual prof he is not that bad

I come from a very unbiased opinion when I say that Adrian Feich is a terrible professor. He wouldn't reply to your emails ever, he would deduct points on late submission. He's the WORST professor I have ever taken in my life. If you're taking his course literally you just gotta study everything by yourself don't depend on this professor.

I found this class to be incredibly hard. I learnt most of the stuff outside of class and don't see why you shouldn't too. His "lectures" are just reading of the slides, he doesn't do any examples in class either.

Pre-recorded readings of the slides cannot be considered as lectures. I know how to read the slides. Not accessible, genuinely gives you the feeling that "you're on your own". Toughest exams. Honest opinion, Just don't. Wait out if he's the only one available. Atleast it's what I should have done.

Absolutely horrible, we had a midterm where he gave us 2 whole assignment level questions (which are done in groups over three over a week), to do solo within 90 minutes, he also have us "extra time" in which he failed to mention that every minute we use he'd deduct 2% of our midterm grade, failed to mention other specifics too, avoid for ur sake.

He expected us to see him implement code once and remember it all. No lecture captures. He doesn't teach, he reads off of the slides (which are the watered down version of the textbook). You miss lectures you fail, you attend lectures you fail. Once asked him to explain something in a lab but he told me I need to pay attention. Teaches too quietly.

Wasn't as approachable as some of the other profs in this department, but knows his content well and can explain things in further detail if prompted. Often gives extra information about his online slides in class, so actually attending class is suggested.

Dry lectures, no online notes. Assignments change on short notice. Labs expire on D2L so they can't be studied. Accent makes things harder but his english is good. Did not strike me as compassionate/approachable. Overall pretty stern and very emotionless. Makes a good effort to show real world uses of course material, i.e final project not exam.

Arbitrarily assigns work. Final project is unclear and not fair. He creates random meetings outside of class time. Going to office hours is important but it is once a week and he doesn't always go. He thinks he is teaching you some important life lesson but would be better off teaching some actual software methodology.

If you think Fiech is bad, goodluck with the rest of the CS department at MUN. Put some effort in to the group work and you'll do great. Show up to the class before any midterm because he will tell you exactly what will be on it and is a fairly easy marker. Doesn't give final exams. Can be helpful if you show you are trying, but you have to ask.

Comment:
The class was not lively at all and difficult to understand without reading the book first. It was hard to know what Dr. Fiech wanted for each assignment and for the group project which left my team confused at times. Be prepared to do a lot of research and to learn how to draw diagrams and plan your project on your own.

Very vague prof. Doesn't explain what he's really looking for in tests or assignments. He seems to get irritated if you try to talk to him or ask him a question. He doesn't seem to have any interest in his teachings.

When I was presenting, he was so sleepy and nodding all the time; at the end he commented that I did not have eye contact while presenting and I was like: "Seriously!?". His exam was so vague, I spent %80 of my time trying to understand what the question wants me to do. He covered %50 of the book and asked us to read the rest and present in class.

Can be very vague about what he wants, but he doesn't need much, so doing something that works will often be good enough for an alright mark. He prefers function over form in programs. Course is not too hard, but makes use of a lot of group work. The final project is a big jump from previous projects though, so manage time wisely.

I think he designs his courses to train student for real world projects. Don't miss classes and ask him as many questions as you can in class. Otherwise you wont get good grades.

A professor who's one of the worst, despite a grasp on the English language (a rarity in the CS department). He often never responds to emails, and if you see him in his office he's very irritated and not willing to help. He's completely vague on what he wants and when you ask, he gets annoyed and is still unclear. Avoid.

Comment:
He doesn't teach well, material he choose is different than real world! He does favor some student to other, even if your project and answers are better, he predecide about your mark, doesn't matter how much you try!e.g.I asked explanation why he hasn't given me full mark when my answer was totaly correct, and he just replied I can't give full mark!
