Lubling is a tough grader and drones in lectures, but he knows his stuff and has a lot of interesting things to say. If you take one of his courses, my best advice is to stay awake during class and take notes.

NGL most boring class I have ever taken. Instead of relating to students he preaches opinions. Extremely slow talker very boring. You will not receive an A if you are not a philosophy major, and this is not an exaggeration. Take anything else to fulfill this requirement.

Yoram is one of the best professors Ive had so far. He explains the material very well and leaves the readings making a lot of sense. To get a good grade you need to pay attention to the readings and his lectures. He is always happy and available to speak outside of class. He does his best to make everyone feel included and respected.

You can't expect to get anything from this class if you don't put anything into it. Simply reading the text (always short) and occasionally saying something in class guarantees success. No question is a bad question, and Dr. Lubling cares about his students a ton. Great content if you give it a chance. If you're looking for a PHL class, take this.

Yoram Lubling is the absolute man. He is very relaxed and the class is very laid back, while also provoking deep thought if you want to try. He is a great guy and I love his style. Not overly focused on grades and more focused on having students gain an interest in philosophy.

Had the best discussions and was always highly respectful of everyones opinion. The more you reach out in conversation and discussions with him the better the class is.

Although most people said Yoram was a great and caring guy I have to say I did not have the same experience. When I would ask him for help on papers he would tell me not to worry about it wouldn't give any useful advice. He also gives no feedback on papers making it harder to do better on the next assignment. Not happy with the class.

This is probably the most boring class I've ever taken in my entire life. Prof. Lubling is very passionate about his class but lectures a lot and has probably put me to sleep more than my bed is able to. Papers are fairly simple and are the only grades. Honestly super easy class if you're willing to endure the most boring lectures of your life.

Interesting class but hard to follow sometimes. Do the readings and everything will make more sense. Professor Lubling pushes really hard for people to speak up in class so make it easier for everyone and participate. Papers aren't too difficult and are only grades in the class. Overall, only take if interested in the subject

Dr. Lubling is one of the most interesting and brilliant professors I have had at Elon. It is just unfortunate that I only had him for winter term. He truly understands how students think and speaks his mind on difficult topics and causes you to critically think. Elon students who don't take at least one class with him are truly missing out.

While the topic is interesting, this class was the most boring thing I've ever been forced to sit through. The whole class spends every day on their computers instead of paying attention, and the ENTIRE class is a lecture. He tries to get people involved but just ends up droning on. Would not recommend.

I took Yoram's Nietzsche and Buber classes and they were absolutely fascinating. In class he would give long but very interesting lectures covering the course material. He made going to class really enjoyable. Outside of class he was always open for discussion and going further into the material. He makes you really enjoy learning.

Yoram,is the man, and he talks A LOT. Sometimes he is super boring, but other times he has such inspirational stories. He is a bit "weird" but that's what makes him HILARIOUS. He really cared about us as individuals and if you ever need someone to talk to he is there for you outside of class. He invited my class to his house for dinner. Super nice

Extremely long and boring lectures in which you don't have to pay attention for. I never did any of the assigned reading and still got away with a B+. Throughout the semester there were just two take home papers (mid termfinal exam), and a group project. Attendance is mandatory but you get jewish holidays off.

Professor Lubling's class is literally the best class you will EVER take. I would take this class over again even if I would not get credit for it. He opened my eyes to so much and is truly an inspiration. All around an awesome guy who is so understanding. He truly wants to get to know his students as people. He has very strong views about things.

Had him for PHL 338 and 339 (the Nietzsche and Buber classes). Probably the best teacher I have ever had. He will stimulate your mind to a new level and you will look forward to going to his class. The stuff hes taught me in that class will stick with me forever, take him if you get the chance it will change you for the better.
