Hes a really good professor, he explains the concept of the class very well and takes him time. I read before the class trust me I hate reading but going through it, understand the examples in the book, understand his examples, understand the vocabulary and youll do just fine.

Some of the best handwriting and drawings I've ever seen for a math professor. You need to actively practice the material. Tests are not too hard but the WebAssign quizzes absolutely killed me.

Mohammadi is the best math professor Ive had at ucsd so far. He is super detailed in his lectures, which is boring when you understand the topic but very helpful if you dont. He has a pretty thick accent which may be difficulut for nonnative english speakers, but I dont think it impeded his teaching or my experience in the class

this guy just records himself reading straight from the book for 80 minutes as his lecture. exams are half material related and half curve balls. homework is pretty easy.

He has an accent, but overall, it isn't hard to understand him. He seems like he actually cares about the student. He tries to encourage us to ask questions. The test is basically the hardest homework questions but with different numbers. Go to lectures and do well on the homework and you will be fine.

This man is a passionate teacher. He has most of his lecture notes memorized, and encourages (at times, implore) the students to ask questions and participate. The exams are all the hardest questions on webassign combined (there are curveballs sometimes, but they're fine if you know the material), so you have a good idea of what are on the tests.

Energetic about his lectures and checks in at every steps. Encourages students to share questions if there are any, and clarifies them well.

One of the worst math professors I have taken so far at UCSD. Lectures go way too fast and hand writing is sometimes impossible to read. Most importantly, be ready to get an extremely low grade in your class because he barely curves the class.

Not very good at explaining things. Talks very very fast, rushes every proof, sloppy handwriting, and lectures weren't very organized. Also he's a tough grader, beware that he doesn't curve much. Average GPA for my section was a 1.80, when it says on the syllabus that he would curve it so that the median would be a B-/C+. I don't think he even curv

Not very helpful out of class. He does not use piazza and does not post announcements often. There is hardly any information for the exams and I don't even know the statistic of the grade. Feel totally lost when studying for final.

Amir is a great guy and is extremely knowledgeable in his field. His complex homework assignments were "easy" (thanks to the TA's and him giving away the answers); however, the avgs on the midterms show that many of us don't understand the class at all. Amir essentially doesn't know how to teach us how to precisely analyze and solve them.

Amir is a great lecturer and awesome guy to talk to, but you should not overestimate what you will get in the class. He makes you work to understand what you are doing (mostly on the HW) and his tests are generally rough (average was about 65-70% on each exam). His curve is not generous at all. He says the average will be about a B-/C+, but was a C

I thought he was an okay professor until I found out the other professors for 109 were a lot more generous with grading. Make no mistake, Mohammadi knows 109 inside out, but his lectures are very fast-paced and the homework assignments aren't really reflective of course or exam materials. I feel like I spent all that time studying for nothing. :(

LECTURES: Quick, difficult to follow. GRADER: Tougher than expected. COURSEWORK: Weekly hw, seems easy but again grades tough, two midterms first is easy, 2nd is much tougher, Final material isn't too difficult but a lot of material is covered. Last third of quarter picks up heavily in material covered. PERSONAL: Somewhat impatient, but okay ovrall

Great professor Available in office hours, bonus office hours,& even to have lunch Gives practice sheet for exam - a double-edged sword. If you can do practice sheet, you get guaranteed 2of5 problems fully correct on the exam, but sheer time spent doing practice sheet can take away from studying proofs and concepts. Me: 35hr/wk Almost fulltime job

Lectures are very very good. He answers questions very patiently. To get A, you should remember all the proof in lectures and practice exams. Math 109 is not easy but if you work hard you will be fine

He's a really funny guy despite having an accent. Knowing this, his lectures are kind of hard to follow sometimes since he extrapolates a lot and the homework is sometimes impossible to finish. However, he's really accessible and willing to work with students. Midterm 1 is extremely easy. Just don't slack off on proofs or this class will kill you.
