Comment:
Dont take online. After watching the lecture you will feel smart but once you do the homework you will feel like you didn't learn anything from lecture. Lectures dont give enough examples. Once you understood the homework you are totally blindsighted by the quizzes. Got experiment each week with no guidance. Grading is harsh.

Dave breaks down the material into its atomical bits so that you can understand the basics. He has great communication and teaching skills. This is something I definitely appreciated when trying to learn this stuff. Chemistry is hard! He also expects accuracy on your exams which is fine because you need to be precise in chemistry.

Dave is amazing. Go to class/lab, and do the homework. Homework can be tricky but similar to exam questions. He uploads previous exams from other semesters with the answer keys! Attempt every question on the exam, he gives partial credit. He makes it very easy to do well and notices when you make an effort. Labs are fun. We made aspirin!

This class is OK, he makes it easier to understand but still not easy. I found he was easier to follow during the first half of the semester, but second half I was lost most the time and had to study using youtube chem tutorials. Be prepared for a new homework due every day of class! The labs were boring and useless. So glad to be done with chem!!

Dave is a great guy and he is very smart! However, he expects a lot from his students. He is a tough grader and makes you really work for an A/B. He doesn't grade his labs until the end of the semester, which are worth 20% of your grade and his final is worth 20%. This means 40% of your grade is unknown until the class is over.

He is nice but his class is EXTREMELY confusing and all over the place. Although he tries to explain things, his labs and homework are difficult. Also, test grades weigh heavy on your overall grade compared to other assignments. You will need a lot of time for this class.

Dave's love or chemistry is apparent. He's very easy-going and give great lecture notes. The material is difficult, so plan on studying. If you miss a lecture, you may find yourself lost since the course moves quickly. There is a homework assignment each class, but they are fairly short and correspond to new material.

Dave's always willing to answer questions w/ a thorough explanation & is noticably passionate about chemistry. I personally got by the whole semester without the book, if you study your notes, don't miss lab or lecture, & do the homework you'll succeed! We didn't have to take a single quiz in his class. He also provides a study guide for every exam
