Comment:
For a 1st year course, this class was way too hard! If Reichheld wants to teach, he is going to have to put his ego aside first! His lectures consisted of him talking about all the "amazing" work he has done for his research projects. Assignments guidelines did not accurately depict the marking scheme which he did not properly share with students.

I personally found this professor to be really good. I'm not sure why all the ratings are so negative? We only had to write two seminar posts a week (250 words/post) and they took 30 mins to write. Not to mention there's no exam and only 5 assignments (2 of them being short) in 8 months. Anyone with common sense could do relatively well.

Horrible marker. He doesn't provide you with actual proper feedback, his feedback sounds like he's complaining and makes no sense at all. I've reached out to him for him to get him to explain what his feedback meant and all I got was more vague complaining.

Grading criteria is absurd, when I get feedback at the beginning of the semester I believed it was my fault for not adding certain things, but as you progress in the course you realize that you are getting docked marks for not adding things that were never mentioned... Wouldn't recommend if your trying to pass your classes in University...

If you have a chance to switch your seminar or class with this Prof / TA please do!! Feedback is lengthy but tends to be horrible and misleading, grades impossibly hard, and has no regard for his student's school lives. I am currently first year at brock and have an 82% average aside from my 58% in this class.

Absolutely horrible. Expects two 300 word posts per week + supplemental information within the seminar as well as assignments that are marked extremely hard. Believe me, I'm a Computer Science student, and all my 4th year courses are easier than this first year course.

Crazy amount of work expected from a first year course. Grading is extremely difficult, and the workload puts constant pressure on you which eventually becomes very frustrating. This man is on an ego trip constantly saying things like "I helped write a successful proposal for a $135K project." Nobody cares lol. Avoid this professor at all costs.

For a first year course the workload is quite heavy. You really have to work hard to get a good grade. The grading criteria is quite vague and the prof is a tough grader. Seminar participation is the saving grace of the course. I found myself emailing the prof often to clarify what was expected with assignments. Do not take this course lightly.

Doesn't care about students, more about his ego. Assigns students in a public forum to aggressively critiquing others. Picks your paper apart harshly. Suggested I rush everything, had no preparation, & didn't related to the course. Meanwhile, had tons of research, examples & based my essay on a key topic discussed in our textbook he assigned us...

The first assignment I received a grade in the high 50's. As a diligent student, I reached out to him by attending his office hours twice a week, to see how I could do better. He was never truly helpful, would continuously grade my papers low even after each overview during his office hours. Don't take his courses!

Worst mistake of my life taking this course, hardest marking and no guidelines as to what they are looking for. Takes forever for marking and little feedback DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE.

Do not take a class with this prof. There is not enough time to do the assignments especially when you need feedback to continue. Assignment guidelines are unclear and everyone says something different. Hard grader. I am a fourth year student getting low B's and I am a straight A student. As a first year course, I suggest taking something else.

Lectures are too long and assignments are marked extremely hard. Not enough time is given to finish assignments especially when they need to hand something back before you can start

Interesting Topics, the course was online but there was just too much to read! I wish he had power points instead of long lectures written for every single class. Too much is asked and expected from this first year course! They mark extremely hard.

Expects way too much for a first year class, we were required to be actively and meaningfully participating in seminar every day of the week. The readings assigned for seminar were often 30+ page essays/articles on top of the weekly readings for lectures. Often talks around in circles and doesnt make it easy to take meaningful notes during lecture

Lectures are hard to follow. He does not post the powerpoint, so come to class to type out the notes. He tends to talk as he changes slides, so it can be difficult to pay attention to him while you type at the same time. I do not recommend INTC 1F90 as it is not easy to get 80 or higher.

I will admit that he is good one on one. However, if there is a problem, he won't fix it. His course load is very unnecessarily heavy, and the seminar takes way too much time. His lectures are not easy to follow. He does not post the slides, and sometimes skips them as you're typing. When he teaches, he babbles away as people are typing the notes.

This professor needs to realize that we have other courses to focus on as well. I've never taken a course at Brock that required we post every single day (5) of the week for the seminar. I really do appreciate his thoroughness and trying to get us ready for university level essay writing, but the workload he expects for JUST the seminar is shocking
