This class shouldnt be taken unless you have a good background with math. Hes a good professor but really tests you on all concepts, the average for the first and second exams was a 50%. He also give a lot of homework, and in order to prepare you for exams gives a studyguide which is very similar to the exam. Recommend.

Really helpful and patient in dealing with students' questions that are probably stupid at times. And I think the fact that we only had weekly homework and major exams instead of weekly quizzes saved my grade.

Jeffrey is an adorable man whose outfits always match spectacularly. He gives good examples, and balances the abstract nicely. He has a great way of delivering the information, and his handwriting is fire.

Comment:
MATH 312 was extremely heavy on proofs, and it would be best to only take the class after significant experience in mathematics. With that said, Jeffrey Case followed the textbook very closely, so it was very easy to review at home. Additionally, he scales/curves grades very extensively to ensure that the average student can succeed.

One of the hardest classes I've ever taken at PSU but Case really helps you out when you are having trouble. Make use of his office hours and always ask questions when you don't understand. One of my favorite things about him is that he never judged me for not understanding (maybe he did), so it made it easier to say "I still don't understand."

To be honest, he was too smart for the class. Even though I attended class every single day, I couldn't quite grasp onto the concepts because he was too fast with explaining and would assume that the class knew what he was writing on the board. It was very difficult to keep up.

Comment:
Honestly, 312 is a pretty hard class. And it's all proofs so for people who haven't taken too many math classes this can be hard. However, Dr Case makes an effort to keep the class interesting - he has a good sense of humor and writes very clear proofs and he curves the midterms and finals! The homework is easy to do (most people had 9/10 average)
