Clear, concise and passionate. He's calm and collected, but he knows how to handle the group and how to make the choir ring. He's super nice and approachable, and I honestly love him so much.

Dr. Laino is maybe the most gifted conductor I've ever sung for. He's very down to earth and relatable, so I don't feel like people always realize what an incredible musician he is, since he's not one to break into histrionics or throw a fit when things don't go right, like so many "brilliant" musicians do. Happy to have studied with him.

He's a nice person, and very approachable. Unfortunately his music & conducting skills are mediocre at best and doesn't have enough character to stand on the podium. I've seen conductors aged 12 with a better cond. technique and intention. You'll waste hours in rehearsals with someone who doesn't know what he wants. Having a doctorate ISN'T enough!

Dr. Laino is a kind and engaging professor. I really enjoy singing for him. Very knowledgable and talented, without being at all pretentious or aloof.

Honestly, I don't know how anyone could say anything bad about Dr. Laino. He's a great person and a great conductor. If you think he's timid, it's probably because you're not paying attention to what he's saying. He's young, but he has a lot of talent and I hope he stays with CUA.

I think Dr. Laino is an awesome professor. He's young, but his conducting technique is wonderful, and he treats the class with respect, even when they don't necessarily deserve it because of repeated bad behavior. I hope he sticks around a while, and I think CUA is lucky to have found him!

Comment:
The reason why Dr Laino is allowed to teach at college level is a mistery to me. Doesn't have anything to say in rehearsals. He is inexperienced, seems to be afraid when he stands on the podium, in my opinion his conducting musically and technically weak, and pales as a conductor when compared to other conducting faculty and students in the school
