I had an all-around great time in Dr. Pinter's class. While the nature of the material at hand may be dry at times, Janos makes a conscious effort to keep everyone engaged. He is open to student feedback and is responsive when a student needs help. I would recommend anyone who has the chance to take a class from him to do so.

Dr. Pintér is an awesome professor! I took an engineering class as a non-engineer, and felt very welcomed and comfortable in the class. He gives you plenty of opportunities to earn points and is a very fair grader. I would take any of his classes and would suggest him as a professor to other students!

Great guy. Always there for students and will help in any way he can. Lectures can get a little boring, but that is no fault of Prof. Pinter's and it's just the material itself. Understanding of all circumstances and is willing to work with you. Very flexible and down to earth guy. Relates to his students.

Professor Pinter was an absolute pleasure to learn from. Some of the material can be a bit dull, but he clearly puts a lot of effort into his lectures to make them as engaging and helpful as possible. He also pays close attention to student feedback for future improvements. Probably the most approachable professor Ive had at Lehigh.

You cannot learn nothing new in this class. The difficulty in the exam is that the questions are ambiguous.

From the first day of class, I could tell Professor Pinter was someone who would act as a mentor to all of his students. He genuinely cared about the impact he would have on all of us, and wanted each one of his students to succeed. He always responds fast via email, makes himself available, & is very helpful during office hours.

Professor Pinter is a good & caring professor who wants you to learn. He's constantly looking for feedback to improve, & is always available to talk or answer any questions. Of course you'll have to put effort into the class, but if you pay attention to his lectures, read the lecture notes, and do practice problems, you will definitely do well.

Dr. Pinter is a great man. He genuinely wants you to learn, and even though he makes you work for it, you always feel like he's beside you the whole way. Fantastic choice for ISE230. His tests aren't the easiest (and you will need to read the textbook), but he's a funny guy and the class is definitely worth your time to take with him.

We need to pay attention to his lecture in class because he intends to reach beyond just the text. In order to get the best of his classes, students are supposed to cover some materials themselves after class. Professor Pinter expects communication, and is always open to suggestions.

Professor Pinter really cares about his students and is always available to help students after class. He will treat you like an adult and in turn, he expects you to treat him with respect too. The tests can be difficult, but they really make you think and help you truly understand the subject matter. He also jokes around a lot.

I took ISE 426 and ISE 447. He is helpful, but only to student he knows. If you wanna keep a good relationship with him, come to his office hour and talk to him. Also attend every lectures and make him know about you. Yes he companied about students, TA, etc too much. Honestly his lecture is extremely abstract. AMPL is useless to learn too.

One of the few professors at Lehigh that actually connects academia to the real world. His comments on applicability of learning material are always very important as it gives you a sense of what is truly important and what is not. He is interested in teaching his students how to think and not just memorize. Extremely knowledgeable in optimization

Comment:
This professor is very unprofessional and complains about his other classes and students. He makes inappropriate jokes and he tends to meander in his lectures making them relatively incoherent. His tests range from difficult to downright impossible. Review his lecture notes. His general woe is me attitude makes the class tedious and uncomfortable.

Professor Pinter is a good professor who cares a lot about the success of his students. He is always willing to help and keeps an open line of communication with students. Besides, he is very knowledgeable and had lots of experiences. The material in class is comprehensible and very useful for our future career. Overall, it's worth to take.

Professor Pinter is easy to listen to in lecture and often makes lecture more fun with jokes and engaging with his students. The initial material is somewhat of a repeat of ISE 111 but progressively becomes harder. I did not buy the textbook but found an online PDF version which I didn't use much.

Comment:
This is an extremely difficult subject matter, but Professor Pinter did a great job of making himself available outside of regularly scheduled class times. His main concern was that the student develop a deep understanding of the subject matter. He is well-versed in the subject. Ask questions early and often. He appreciates students who engage.

Comment:
Dr. Pinter cares a lot about his students. The class was very theoretical and he tried to relate it to real world applications. The lectures are stale most of the time but he adds some flare by incorporating some jokes here and there. His slides are exceptional, but you really need to study to do well on exams.
