Comment:
As far as I'm concerned, Brian is one of the best professors for 3320 and many of the upper-division CS courses. He recognizes how difficult the course was and made necessary adjustments so it didn't take over every waking hour of our lives. If he makes his own curriculum, I think he will easily be one of the best CS professors at UVU.

I'm sure Brian is great in person- unfortunately, my class with him was online, and we only saw him once a week to review the PAST concepts, so we didn't get a lot in the way of teaching to prepare for the homeworks. Had to do lots of learning independently with the book/google. He was very compassionate when it came to grading. Its a hard class.

Dr. Knaeble is great in that he explains things well, doesn't believe in the barbaric point system, and doesn't overload you with unnecessary stuff. The course he was teaching was poorly designed by another professor which is why I didn't enjoy the class but if he had designed the course, it would've been miles better.

I failed this class with a different professor, but Brian Knaeble was great. He tried to help me when I was struggling, and he put more effort into making sure concepts were understood than he needed to.

He is a great guy, but I had to do a lot of outside work for this class. I had previous coding knowledge, but he didn't help much when it came to teaching. We did go over an exam review and other topics that were hard to understand, but I did a lot of googling to figure out how to do the assignments. He was easy to work with though.

At the beginning of the semester, he was absent. But as the semester went on, he became more available and was able to get a grasp of teaching this class and it showed. The material is hard, so it was rough not having a formal lecture. But he was fair in changing the course as we progressed depending on our grasp of each topic. Even the final.

Comment:
Incredibly frustrated with this class. It was hard to earn an A because we were graded on 4 exams and nothing else. The lectures are pointless because he just talks about vocab and rambles. He would assign homework questions from the textbook without even reading them (he didn't even own a copy of the book.) Couldn't seem answer questions directly.

He knows what he is talking about. He mentioned something about left-brained math and right-brained math. Left is being able to do computations, and right is understanding the big picture. The way he teaches feels like, to me, all right-brained. He does well at explaining the big picture, but I never knew how to do the computations.

Professor Knaeble is great. He was very open with what was on his tests and what you are graded on. He was always willing to answer questions and relate principles directly to the real world.

You are only graded by 3 exams. No required homework assignments or mandatory attendance policy. The professor makes the concepts easy to understand and helps you understand the big picture. The exams are relatively simple and he allows a cue sheet.

This class ruined trig for me. I am considering majoring in math so I thought taking this class was a good idea. This professor wouldn't actually teach the information needed. He would tell us to figure it out and not explain how to do that. I learned nothing from him and learned from google just so I could pass this class.

While he knows the material really well, he's not very good at checking his email. He asks students to email him questions after class, but I personally never received a response. While he does enjoy showing how to apply the material outside of class, he does tend to get distracted and goes off tangents.

This class was one of the easiest classes I took this semester because he made the tests not too hard so this class was easy to pass. However, I didn't really learn anything since we didn't turn in any homework, and during class a majority of the lecture was just a quick explanation of problems of the homework and definitions.

Weird dude, hes nice though. This class is easy if you understand statistics because he doesn't teach super well. You have about 20 homework problems a week and 3 tests. Your homework isn't graded, but you only have 4 things you're graded on all semester. If you're a bad test taker don't take this class.

Professor Knaeble really knows his stuff. He would be a great professor to have for a normal semester class. I took him during a summer block and he struggled to properly utilize his time. He would often go off on mathematical tangents unrelated to the course that were very interesting, but in a summer block there is no time for that.

This class is hard. By far the hardest class I have taken in my college career. It was not Brian who made it hard it was just new material I had never seen before. The great thing about Brian is he made this hard material very understandable for the undergrad level. Love his teaching ethics and ability to make things interesting.

Amazing professor! Makes trigonometry easy for everyone to understand and is completely willing to repeat himself or explain the concept in another way. Has specific class time set aside to help you with HW. Overall amazing teacher. 100% take his class. Is very nice and approachable and willing to help you in anyway. Grade is 90% based on tests

Brian was a great instructor. He has high expectations for his students and pushes them to think critically and differently from how they would in any other setting. The class was difficult and I was definitely challenged and it was frustrating a lot of the time, but I learned a lot from his class.
