there are tons of material you have to read and watch before class. huge group project at end of semester. there aren't many things graded, so for the things that are graded give a lot of pressure. breakout rooms every class. be ready to share things you normally wouldn't share to strangers.

She's very nice and accomodating. The class assignments were vague and required TA assistance to understand what to do. A lot of assigments and readings. Guest lecturers are good. Take notes on slides to do well on quizzes.

Prof. Oliver is a very kind and caring person and provides a safe space to discuss tough topics. She also is very flexible with grading and due dates if you are stressed or worried about the project timeline. The class was lecture heavy and a little boring at times. Even though attendance isn't mandatory, if you want to do well, go to class.

The class was very interesting and she is very passionate about what she teaches. Not much homework and the homework you do have is pretty easy and simple. Big Lecture heavy class where you may struggle to stay awake. The quizzes are actually somewhat difficult but not bad. Make sure you show up to class, even though it's not mandatory.

Comment:
Alison is very kind and knowledgable about social justice. It sounded like an interesting and beneficial class to take, but that was not the case at all. We had exams over content that was very abstract and conceptual, which is not the format to display our understanding of this content. Also, her TA is a much better teacher than she is.

Alison is a nice woman and cares a lot about people. She's very knowledgable about social work. That being said, I think she'd be better in practice as opposed to teaching about it. I didn't learn one thing in this class that was taught directly from her. I learned through textbooks and videos. (I use the term "learn" loosely).

Very knowledgeable about the subject material. Asks students good questions that make them think more critically about the issue. This class was not difficult at all if you just show up and pay attention. It's clear she cares about what she is teaching and her students

Comment:
Prof Oliver is a super nice person, but she clearly hasn't taught very many classes and is primarily a social worker before a professor. I'm sure she's good at her job, but she shouldn't be teaching. The first half of the semester was video-heavy and the entire second half of the semester consisted of ONLY guest speakers. She barely taught herself.

Very good professor who makes material very clear and is obviously very passionate about what she is teaching. Not a lot of assignments in the class so make sure you don't slack off on any of them.

Alison is extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Human Sexuality. She is very nurturing of a safe learning space for all, especially when it came to potentially sensitive or polarizing topics. Some of the activities that were assigned were a little clunky but overall the class was well thought out and easily understandable.

Comment:
Alison is a very interesting person. Her lectures got too lengthy for me and the quizzes were way more difficult than they should've been. Barely any points in the gradebook so the final take home exam, final participation activities, and essays are worth SO much of your grade and take forever. Interesting class but a little too weird.

Alison is a fantastic professor. She is extremely well-rounded and gives excellent feedback on questions and inquiries. This course was super interesting and the grades are clear-cut and easy if you actually put forth effort. Her guest speakers are phenomenal and the videos are really interesting as well. I highly recommend any course with Alison.
