He is an amazing professor, I mean great, I struggled with Chem1 and he made this class so easy to understand, was simple and straightforward. The homework isn't necessary to do but it is good practice for the exams and if you do all the HW, which is collected at the end of the semester online, he adds it to your overall grade which can boost 10%

Best chem lecture professor at Cal Poly, hands down! Makes everything super easy to understand. His grading is INSANELY fast, always had free response exams back by next class period. Exams were never too hard, always representative of the lectures and the examples he provides. Homework is extra credit.

Honestly the best chem professor you can have. Dr Margolese was very caring and wanted the best for his students. Lectures can get a bit boring, but they're crucial to passing the quizzes and exams since questions are directly from notes. For exams and quizzes he usually sends out a study guide which consists of problems that are very helpful.

He is funny and a very smart person. He was always willing to help me understand my lab or classwork even though I only have him for lecture. I recommend taking him just keep in mind you will probably have to go to lecture to do well, but that goes for any 1220 lecture.

Again, what applies with his lecture section applies with his lab. He is the best option to take for the lab portion and his lectures are clear. It still is a hard class but at least Dr. Margolese makes it possible to get an A.

Out of every other CHM1220 professor, Dr. Margolese is the best possible option. He has the best lectures, best quiz, and assignment format. CHM 1220 however, is still a tough class, so it won't be an easy A. Nevertheless, Dr Margolese is the best option if you are aiming for an A.

Take Dr. Margolese for chem over the other professors, TRUST ME. He is always patient and willing to help and work out homework or past quiz problems, especially during office hours. If you find an issue with your grade, he is willing to listen and change it. I would be struggling if I had taken another professor... thank you David you're the best

Hes a great professor! Hes very knowledgeable and will explain anything if you ask. Chemistry is a tough class so having a professor like him will help you out so much. He may come off as bothered but its only because its uncomfortable for him to look at the camera when hes talking. He makes jokes here and there and made this semester great!

At first it may seem like he doesn't care about his students but its actually quite the opposite. Talking to a camera is uncomfortable for him but thats okay considering no one talked very much. Lectures were fairly short. Explains how to solve and answer problems. Feedback is given when asked. Check your sig figs and ask questions, he will answer!

Best prof hands down! U dont have to show up but there arent any posted powerpoints just the recorded lecture. Tests and quizzes are based off of what he lectures on so if u dont show up at least watch the lecture later. MasteringChem is required but the assignments are for extra credit.

Professor Margolese is by far one of the best professors I have had at CPP. His exams and quizzes are very similar to the class and textbook problems, just make sure you pay attention during lectures. He breaks down the concepts well and doing the textbook problems will prepare you for the exams/quizzes! HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR CHM 1220.

My favorite teacher this semester, very caring person who has a very relaxed tone, but still teaches real well and is super chill with talking about topics not understood. Wish i could take him again but my schedule wont fit it :/ Makes chem an easy topic for sure.

Prof Margolese was one of the best professors I have ever had in my college career. I've taken my fair share of chem courses and he made me want to learn more about chem and take more classes taught by him. He made it extremely understandable and everything was super clear. He gave great example and good problems from the book that helped on tests.

Honestly the best professor I had at this school. I never liked chemistry, and Professor Margolese made the concepts easy to understand. People seem to be bothered by the lack of powerpoints and how he writes everything on the board, but it's a chemistry class --c'mon. Textbook problems WILL prepare you for quizzes/exams.

Professor Margolese is pretty easygoing and his lectures are clear. I've already had experience with chemistry, so this class was a breeze (but I got lazy on studying for the final). Just do practice problems that he provides and you'll be fine. Exam questions don't have any curveballs and are exactly like the practice problems in class.

This class was probably one of the more chill side of college courses ive taken especially for being a science class. Grade is all from midterms, quizzes, and a majority from final. The midterms and quizzes were exactly like the class notes so as long as you take notes you should be fine. Final was pretty hard but was def curved.
