Great at designing the class. He gave a lot of valuable insight on the context and nuance of each film. You can tell his prime goal is just to make students care about the arab world which is really respectable. Very nice and fair. For the most part he handled the class while he was less engaged at the end he still oversaw everything well.

This was handled online and I thought he did a pretty good job administering the class. He had use Kaltura to discus the films. The only reason he wasn't a 5 is because while he did a great job running the class he didn't feel involved enough for me to justify such a high score.

He was pretty solid. He really seemed to want to make his students to be interested in Arabic and Islamic culture which was nice. My one issue was I thought he could be a little shy and monotone which could make him hard to understand. He was really easy to contact and would usually respond to emails within and Hour.

The reasons I would not ever take his class again; Very hard to communicate with, Never posted grades at all but had many quizzes and assignments, would not give directions and instructions but expected alot out of your work, passive agressive, he acted like he never wanted to help or be there. Very confusing and harsh.

Davidson was a pretty good professor and he's able to answer any questions asked. There are three papers required throughout the year and he gives pretty harsh feedback but it helps to understand what you did right. Before every class, there is a short reading and discussion board required but overall the class is pretty easy and fun!

Davidson is an awesome professor! He is super smart and knows exactly what he is talking about. I feel like I learned a lot from him and would totally take another course of his if I wasn't about to be a senior! The class is easy if you pay attention and do the work. Highly recommend.

An indifferent professor. The class is boring unless you're really interested in (Central) Asia. 98% of the class is Islamic studies. HW is the same every week, read 2 long sources, take a short quiz Monday & write a discussion post Wednesday. 3 total reading response papers. If you take this for FYE hoping it's a breeze, DON'T. Take the others.
