Comment:
Professor Norris makes students feel uncomfortable and instead of helping the class, she tends to critic students in a tough way. She also leaves the class hanging to answer phone calls which is completely unprofessional. If you are late to the class meeting even for a few minutes, she will not let you in. I dont recommend her at all.

If you're not confident in her class, she will make it worse. She is a very very tough grader. No one gets 100, her highest grade in the class was 93. So, take her class carefully. She makes anxiety worse. She takes calls in class, leaves students hanging. She made students buy books but we never used them.

Over all great Professor, loves her job and cares about her students. She gives good feedback which helps you improve in her class as the semester progresses. She will have you purchase a book that you won't use. If you are an introvert, do not recommend you take this course as it will have you presenting for most of the semester.

She is uncaring, if you have anxiety be ready to have panic attacks every time you have to talk, she heavily critics you over every little thing and does not give second chances. If you have a question or are unsure she will make fun of it saying you should know with out every explaining it, if I had I choice I would have never taken this class.

Comment:
Professor Norris has really unrealistic expectations of her class, so beware of that. She also forces you to buy the textbook, but never uses it in her class. She never lectures, just puts on youtube videos and expects you to learn. Then proceeds to get angry when you mess up a bit. Never would want her as a teacher again.

The worst teacher ever. Is constantly on her phone and even leaves class to make phone calls. Unrealistic expectations. Never lectured but just played random youtube videos to waste our time. When midterm came she wanted us to read our whole book , when there was no material covered. Thank goodness we didnt have to go to school anymore.

She is a great professor. Scary at first, but an absolute sweetheart when you get to know her more. She really teaches you well on how to give a speech and you wont ever forget it in your future. She is easy to talk to and loves to talk to you about literally anything.

Saw a review that said shes passionate about her subject and i can totally agree with that. Shes very understanding and is good at teaching. She makes it simple for us students. I will say however that i did take another COMM class in the past, and prof norris class was a lot more work and more class engaging.

It is obvious she is passionate about teaching, but she often forgets she's TEACHING us and it shows she gets upset when we don't get the hang of things as quickly as she wants you too. Overall it was a good class, be prepared to crack out of your shell if you're shy!

Not one to be the best at public speaking, but as long as you project your voice, which you will here her say a lot, you will get an A on your speeches. She doesn't lecture much, but we watch a lot of videos on speeches. As long as you listen to her feedback, its an easy class.

The professor relies heavily on student interaction and group activities. Take good notes in the class and read the entire textbook because the midterm will be an exam on everything she lectured and everything in the textbook. Go along with her dumb mnemonic devices, she grades based on how well you follow the devices when speaking.

Comment:
Prof. Norris is passionate about what she teaches. In the beginning of the semester, the course is really reading heavy. Fair warning, she does not follow her own syllabus schedule. So, read ahead of time and also prepare for speeches to be assigned earlier than stated on the syllabus. If you put effort into the class, you'll get the grade you want
