Comment:
Prof. Rose's course was one of the most enjoyable classes I have taken. I read some of the RMP feedback and some are simply untrue. The course requires you to come to class and learn the material on the slides. If you actively engage in class, the objectives are not only clear but are very applicable to the real world and interesting.

I loved the class SOC 336P! This class covers very interesting topics and she communicates the information very well. This class does rely on the textbook, however if you read and attend lecture you should do great. Definitely recommend taking the class!

Professor Rose is a good person but not a good professor. Exams are extremely challenging for no reason, and there are no clear study guides for test material. It's only possible to get an A or high B if this class is your only textbook heavy class. Her lecture slides are also not very straight forward, making them diffucult to follow.

So. Boring. So unbelievably boring. This was the first class I had to force myself to stay awake during, and I usually LOVE boring, meandering classes. It seems as though she tries to make her expectations as unclear as possible, while grading us on vague, squishy concepts. Take anyone else, this class gave me extreme anxiety and boredom at once.

Worst sociology class I have ever taken. She is so boring and is the hardest grader ever. Does not give enough time to complete the final exam, which is beyond ridiculously hard. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!! Find a different professor.

She is a very nice lady. 2 tests, midterm and final and one paper. Very nice, but nothing amazing. Lecture is interesting but she likes breakout rooms wayyyy too much. Overall, good class. Didn't like social psychology like I thought I would though.

She is such a great prof. Very knowledgeable about the subject and is very open and honest. She lets people ask questions in class until they understand. Tests were easy and she gave you an idea of what would be on them. 3 tests, not cumulative, participation checks during class, and one short reaction paper to a film.

Dr. Rose is a solid choice when it comes to learning about law and its interactions with social sciences. My favorite point is that none of the exams are cumulative. So, you can study in chunks rather than having to stress out about remembering everything. Some information is also only from lectures so be sure to attend!

It's MANDATORY to read the textbook because her exams are based off a lot of it. Also you MUST attend lectures. Other than that she's a decent professor

Best Prof I've had at UT. I took both of the classes she teaches and loved them both. She has a reputation for being a hard professor but if you pay attention to lectures and read the textbook you shouldn't have any trouble.

Overall, Professor Rose was a great professor and really got the students thinking. The only major downside to the class was the exams were incredibly difficult and in order to get even a B+, you would have to devote your soul to the class. Only take this class if you're thinking about law school.
