Her class was a fantastic intro to Race/Ethnic Politics in the U.S. She's a funny and engaging lecturer, and I liked the mix of essays/tests that we were graded on. No study guides, but you could usually guess what topics would show up on exams. Course content was organized and clear. She didn't post slides, so good notes were important.

Professor Wallace is incredible - she is a great lecturer who clearly knows her stuff. This class opened my eyes to so many problems that I had no idea about in terms of race/ethnicity, and I think everyone should be required to take this class. She does have strong opinions, but she doesn't force them onto her students. Everything feels relevant!

I took a class from Professor Wallace my first quarter at UW, and she is incredible! She is very passionate about race/ethnicity in U.S politics, and is committed to student learning. With that being said, the class involved two short papers and two exams that were easy if you attended class regularly and did the readings. You will learn a TON!

No differing opinions allowed. She's crazy, yells a lot, and for some reason speaks like she's 20, which is obnoxious. Didn't learn anything in the class, and she made it way worse than it had to be... That said, class itself wasn't that hard. Just have to write the papers to fit her opinion.

I loved Prof Wallace! She really, truly cares about her students and is so passionate about her field. There is a lot of reading, but I have never learned so much in one class. Her passion comes through, and she genuinely cares if you get the material and will help as much as possible. She really opens your eyes to a lot of issues and history.
