Comment:
Kent's exams and quizzes are not too difficult. He has big problems when it comes to sharing his personal beliefs. Near every class he goes into something unrelated to economics and voices his belief. He shares way too much and it's very apparent what side he lays on. if this doesn't bother you then his class is fine.

Super nice, really wants students to succeed. Very understanding and always goes the extra mile in trying to make things as easy on students as possible. Also great at dumbing down concepts and making them very digestible. Can't recommend highly enough for Macro

The absolute best option for your first year writing seminar. Dolezal meets 1:1 to discuss every paper and offers multiple options for revision. 1 book to read and 3 papers the entire semester. Makes a great class environment. 87 is an A and that's not because it's hard. Truly wants each student to succeed.

Literally the best. Super funny, always makes me want to show up to class, a fair grader, very chill assignments, jokes around with us, and literally connected me to his friend to help me find an internship this summer. He's one of the best professors here, and I highly encourage taking his classes!

Dolezal is a g. Super easy to access outside of class, understanding of the issues with group assignments, and has lots of cool stories to tell. 2160 isn't bad at all. A range is super low at 90%, and as long as you do the labs and take homes you'll be fine on the exams. Just be careful to not make dumb mistakes with calculations and you're good.

Freakonomics was such an amazing class. Although we only end up reading a couple chapters of it, it's still worth it. Kent cares about his students so if you put basic effort into the class and participate, he won't let you not get an A. The papers are simple and he really empathizes with freshmen. The final group paper took some effort but easy A.

Prof Dolezal is a cool guy, but his class was very disorganized, so get ready to ask a lot of questions before you fully understand what the heck you have to write for a paper. That being said, he gives really good feedback on papers and lets you submit a draft to get comments before submitting the final copy. Super easy fyws (plus an 87 is an A)

A solid choice for a first-year writing seminar. He is a very laid back guy who is not the most organized but at the end of the day he wants you to learn and succeed. Class discussions are not the most interactive but he gives you plenty of time for the papers, which are graded pretty easily. As long as you put in the effort, you should get an A.

Kent is amazing! Super helpful when going over papers one on one. Also he helps students utilize the writing studio. One final group project/presentation and 5 small papers throughout the year. Very nice professor and was glad to have taken his class.

Dolezal is kind and his grading is fair, but it is easy to fall behind in lectures when he goes quickly. Econ 2160 is difficult without a background in game theory or a lot of time dedicated to doing the (countless) practice problems. Like a math class, this class requires that you learn problem-solving processes, not facts. Do go to office hours.

For some reason they made 2160 harder this semester. Lots of calc which makes no sense for a lower level econ. Professor is always trying to fix his mistakes. Most people get very lost

Great professor. Makes one of the harder classes at vandy not bad at all. Teaches well in class and follows organized structure. Super nice guy who you can go to for help all the time. Very willing to work with students regarding missed stuff/poor grades. At the end of semester, does all sorts of grade boosters like dropping lowest quiz etc.

Very relaxed and informal first-year writing seminar. Three short papers during the year where he grades the paper during a 1 on 1 appointment where he discusses the whole paper with you. Final is a group project that you have plenty of flexibility and time to work on. Very open and relatable professor.

Kent is a super nice guy. He's always accessible outside the class and he's humorous. However, you should teach yourself through textbooks and homework problems now and then, because his lectures are not always super clear. Make sure you did some previews before attending the class, or you'll be confused for 50 minutes. Not a hard class though.

Idk why his reviews are so great, you do not learn that much in this class. he often won't come or just gives out a worksheet in class to work in. i go to all classes and still do not learn much, i have to do most on my own to understand stuff. beyond that, it is not that interesting. if you like calculus, math, algebra and solving equations
