Astronomy with Rich is my absolute favorite class of all time! While I have a natural interest in astronomy, Rich is the main reason why I showed up to class every single day. GREAT guy who has a contagious passion of astronomy and really cares about the students. 11/10 would take again!

Rich is great! He explains the content well and the lectures are great. You don't HAVE to show up, but you should because it's so interesting. The homework is online and isn't the best, but it's easily doable. Tests aren't too hard if you study. Make sure you study for the final because it's cumulative and it's easy to forget the little details!

He makes the lectures in a way that really spells out what will be on the test. It summarizes what's important from the book so you really don't have to read the textbook. Homework is not very hard but is extremely helpful. Great teacher, he is willing to help with anything you need.

I've always struggled w/ science, & I loved Astronomy with Rich. His lectures were always interesting & it made me want to go to class. Also, he was hilarious! Although many people didn't take advantage of it, he was always very accessible during his office hours. There's a lot of online homework, but it really helped me to learn the content well!

Participation is based off clicker questions that he reviews the answers right beforehand so you just have to listen. I am not a science person but surprisingly did not hate this class. Make sure to listen to the lecture and actually try on the homework and you will be fine.

Rich is one of the most entertaining professors I've ever had. He makes class interesting, and has such a genuine and contagious interest in physics. He's one of the nicest guys you'll meet, always has a sense of humor, but is extremely knowledgeable. Makes class easier. All around good guy, absolutely take him if you can.

Rich is awesome, he wears a man bun every day. I recommend sitting in the front of the lecture room so you can understand better and be able to interact with him. Great guy, really passionate about astronomy. Grades participation through clicker questions

Rich is a very capable instructor. He's able to explain concepts well and will always answer your questions if you have them. He goes quickly, but the homework really helps with cementing in concepts that may have been brushed over during lecture. Overall, a great professor!

Rich is great! He knows the material well and is also very good at teaching it. If you have questions, he'll always be there to answer them, and he's a very reasonable guy, too. Always going to class and keeping up with your understanding of the material and the homework is key--if you do that, this class is both fun and manageable!

Rich is hands down the best professor I have ever had. His undoubted humor and kind heart makes me want to show up to lecture every class. Although the material is sometimes difficult he is always accessible outside of class. Furthermore, his stories are insane: hiking up mountains, working in the desert; you name it, he's done it. A great guy
