I didn't hate this class but I also did not like it. Professor goes off on tangents a lot and the material wasn't really relevant to the course description. Way more of a classical philosophy class than a modern justice class, which I disliked because it was boring and abstract. Professor plays devil's advocate way more than he really needed to.

Hopefully you love writing papers because you will be writing alot of big ones. I hate writing papers but I didnt mind this class. Hes an average greater, a little picky. The scary thing about this class there are only 100 points you can earn so if you do back on a couple assignments you're out of luck.

I had been looking forward to taking this course for a long time and finished it very disappointed. I don't think we even scratched the surface of the subject and it seemed like everything he assigned was busy work. The TA graded everything except the final paper. Beware of pop quizzes. He is very nice but I didn't enjoy his teaching style.

I can see why some students might not like him, but I enjoyed his class. There are lots of readings, discussion boards, quizzes, a couple of papers-don't wait until the last minute for final papers and projects. He's a pretty good lecturer and listens to his students. The topic itself is boring but at least Tyler can teach it pretty decently.

Make sure you read or at least get the gist of the readings as there will be 6 pop quizzes (but he drops ur lowest 1). Weekly discussion board. Four 3-5 page double-spaced papers, and one final paper (10 pg double-spaced). NO final exam! Great teacher, really makes u think! Don't get pysched on the papers, he lays the prompt out for u nice & easy.
