Tony Chen is one of the sweetest professors I've had at JMU. He genuinely cares about his students and will do everything he can to help you pass. His lectures move pretty fast but he's super understanding of questions. Just make sure you turn in all your work and you'll be fine.

Dr Chen is the best professor I have had at JMU. I am noramlly a horrible math student and recieved an A. I did put work into the course but it is managable. I didn't even take calc in highschool and I loved this class!!!

Professor Chen was amazing. All you really need to do to pass is pay attention in lectures and try your best at the homework. Had a Joke of the Day which were usually so bad they were funny. He has test corrections, gives some extra credit during labs, and has review sessions with test answers, and can use notes on test on reference sheet.

Professor Chen is one of the best professors that I have ever had at JMU. He is incredibly helpful and cares deeply about making sure you succeed. If you are ever confused about anything he is always available outside of class to help you.

Most kind professor at JMU and is such a sweet guy. Lectures arent dreadful and lots of extra credit is given. Only one homework assignment per week and you can do test corrections for every test. This class is very low stress, TAKE DR CHEN!!

Great professor!! He's so sweet, I highly recommend him if you need to take a calculus class. He takes attendance that goes towards your grade, but if you have taken a calc class in high school its an easy A. He does test and quiz corrections where you can get half points back. I'm sad to have to leave him :(( Love him!

Dr. Chen is one of the nicest people i know. If you have taken high school calc this is a breeze if not you may struggle a little bit. On the first day Dr. Chen puts you in groups in which you get all the homework done with and help each other out. 1 Homework assignment per week(15-20 questions),Quiz and Test corrections, Excel part is super easy.

Dr. Chen is the single nicest man in ISAT, and possibly at JMU. He cares about each individual student and takes the time to talk to everyone and ask them how they are. He wants people to learn and, unlike some other professors, does not think a hard subject means that everyone should almost fail. I love his jokes of the day :-)

Tony Chen is probably the best professor I have had at JMU. He understands that the material he is teaching is hard and boring, so he always tells great stories and has daily "jokes of the day". He is also very approachable, does exam/ test corrections, has easy A labs, and is just fantastic. TAKE HIM PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Dr. Chen is great. He is always willing to help out when you have questions no matter how busy he is. He makes it very clear that he cares about his students and the information he's teaching. Dr. Chen is the sweetest, most compassionate man I've ever had the pleasure to be a student of. He truly cares about each of his students, is extremely accommodating, and will ensure you fully understand the material (he's more helpful 1 on 1). If you're like me, and you need math explained step by step in excruciating detail- then Chen's your guy.

If you can, TAKE HIM! Best professor Ive ever had. Ive always struggled in math like really bad, but Dr. Chen is almost always available outside class for help. Not only that, but he allows test corrections to make up half credit. the homeworks a pain as usual, but definitely do it. Super nice and cares about his students. Seriously, best professor

He made calculus fun, and I didn't even know that was possible. This class is 4 times a week which sounds overwhelming, but Dr. Chen makes each class have a purpose. He lets you do test corrections which is great because it actually helps you learn from what you've done wrong. If you get him as a professor then you're lucky!

Dr. Chen will forever be one of my favorite professors. This guy cares so much about his students and has such a passion for teaching. He is so understanding and never fails to make you laugh even if you're having the worst of days. Lectures are a little boring but how are you supposed to make calculus exciting, am I right? 10/10 would take again!

Chen is the most amazing professor I've ever had, hands down. I've never seen someone genuinely care so much for students, he will stay up all night to hand grade your tests and return them the next day.. and he lets you do corrections to get points back. Very organized and helpful, wants you to do well. I wish he was my grandfather or something!!
