Comment:
Tests aren't graded manually, computer does the grading which results in answers being marked wrong even if they're right. Her office hours are sporadic. Auto-generated tests mostly different from actual practice tests assigned so expect curveball questions that you haven't studied for. Fast speaker during recorded lectures so hard to keep up.

Comment:
The asynchronous version of MA120 was challenging at times especially since not all the lectures were her teaching the material. She cares about her students and as long as you do the practice exams you will be fine in this class.

A good bit of homework straight from the much needed textbook. Tests were cake if you could do the homework. You could tell during her pre-recorded lectures that this class wasn't her main job for the day. The lectures seemed kind of rushed but they were still surprisingly great and informative. Sweet lady, awesome lecturer and generous grader.

Professor Dupree is one of the best professors I've had at UAH. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to do well. She is very clear about what is on the tests, her reviews are very helpful, and her lectures are engaging. I would definitely recommend taking her classes!

Genuinely one of the best professors I've had. Mrs. Dupree is very passionate about the material she teaches, and also understands that it can be difficult to learn. Fairly lenient grading on tests and always does test corrections the next class to make up points you missed. Cares more about learning than testing. Very engaging lectures

The material was difficult but Professor Dupree really does all she can to make sure you get it. She holds regular office hours, allows for test corrections, and does a decent amount of curving on the grades. Do your work here and she'll make sure you pass.

Hands down one of the best math professors I've had. Lectures were around 30 minutes each and explained things very well, and homework was usually about 3-5 problems each. Watch the lectures, do the homework and review guides, and the tests should be very straightforward. Also does test corrections so you can get some points back.

Meh. I had her online and she was super particular. Lady, you are watching us there is no one in my house that can answer ANY question on those dang quizzes. One hand out of focus from the camera and you fail me is ridiculous. Next. Has got to be better in person.

Maybe this is just because of being online this semester... but she records super short videos covering each chapter, flies through the examples, and then assigns 3-5 problems. Then when she grades it, the only feedback she gives is correct or incorrect. It's easy till you get to the test and you're stumped... she is accessible though.

Class is 25% attendance quizzes (3 can be dropped), 45% tests (3 tests), and 30% final exam (replaces the lowest test score). Her tests are incredibly easy if you practice from the textbook. She lets people correct tests to earn a few points back. It would be criminal for her to give an easier test. Very straightforward lectures, no nonsense.

Professor Dupree is likely the best math professor at UAH. Excellent lecturer and never leaves behind those who are slow. Incredibly available/responsive to emails. Likely easier than other UAH math professors. Drops some grades. Make sure to not miss class! If you've struggled with calculus in the past, you can succeed in this class. A+ professor.

Had this prof for 2 semesters, and I'm glad. After hearing how other professors teach calculus at UAH, this is probably the best one you can take (unless you get offended super easily). You might have a difficult test or two, but you can still walk out with a pretty good grade and a better understanding of calculus.

Mrs. Dupree is great. She really knows how to teach her subjects. Attendance is graded and there is almost always a daily assignment. There can occasionally be a quiz, but they are not difficult. All work done in class, except for tests, is collaborative. Also you can do test corrections, so you can get some missed points back on tests.

She is a wonderful teacher. I took her linear algebra class and it was basically math therapy for me. I have never been successful in any math class I've taken, I'm talking C's and D's. She healed some of the wounds past math classes have left on me. I felt like I actually learned in her class, and that I was learning something worth learning.

I hadn't seen cal in 2 years but she reviewed old concepts as we went along. Attendance was free points. If you can do the review sheets, you'll get no worse than a B on the tests. Gives a small amount of "test correction points". Replaces lowest test grade with corresponding section on final. Objectively, probably the easiest DE teacher- take her!

Attendance is super important. Tough grader. Tests are harder than the review sheet problems, but usually similar. May drop a pop quiz or two. Collaborative learning is also a thing. Her stories are great, and she makes the class fun. Put in the effort to do the class work and you will be fine.

Attendance is mandatory but you waste your time by going to this class. Time is not used wisely. Time is spent on personal anecdotes (which to be fair, some students like...) and you can not leave when you have finished assignments. This specific instructor does not prepare you for understanding and being able to use the material in the future imo

Dupree is the best professor you can take if it is your first time ever seeing calculus. She teaches it slowly and goes over the basis of all things we do in class, unlike literally every other calculus professor at UAH. She specifies what will be on tests (with a few surprises of course). GO TO PASS SESSIONS! Those extra credit points help a lot.

Pretty good choice for DE. Would have given her a 5 but the final was a lot harder than the practice questions she had given. For the most part tests are just like the practice tests. Show up and do the work and you'll be fine.

Mrs. Dupree is an excellent professor who makes D.E. easy to learn and fun. As a high school teacher, she is very good at demonstrating that she cares about students and making their time in the class enjoyable. The tests are very straightforward and the review sheets given in class are a good representation of what will be on them. Easy final.
