Ignore all of these negative reviews. I assume those people were just lazy. As long as you do the weekly modules, you will be fine. There were only 2 group projects which were very manageable. She laid out very clear expectations. I enjoyed how organized the class was structured and how there were no surprises. As long as you do the work, you get A

This class was organized well, but Professor Crampton's grading criteria was not specific enough. She expected way too much from her students for the group projects and her feedback on our essays was brutal. It felt as though she had no positive comments for any of our writing that we all worked incredibly hard on. I would want this Prof again.

If you want to learn about how to manage people, save your money and don't take this class- get a job at Chick-Fil-A intead. Seriously, if learning theorems and meaningless group projects is your cup of tea, by all means Prof. Crampton is your gal. She is the most scrupulous teacher you will ever meet. Do yourself a favor and AVIOD THIS CLASS!

By far the worst professor I have ever had. Did not give any instruction and had students figure out work by themselves. She put in no effort to help out especially during COVID. Impossible to learn anything. No instruction at all in group project and very very picky. Cannot stress enough do not take her!!!!

Professor Crampton isn't as bad as all of these reviews make her out to be. She is a good professor who is very knowledgable on the material she teaches. She does assign a decent amount of homework online. There are some papers and a group project you have to complete. She is a TOUGH grader on papers. Her exams are easy if you actually study!

Comment:
Professor Crampton asks for a lot of effort from her students, but doesn't put in much effort herself. There is no effort on her end to make the lectures/class even remotely interesting, and the last month of class is basically taught by the students. Frequent homework assignments that take long, and grades TOUGH on the group projects.

Professor Crampton is honestly the worst. There is no other way to put it. Her lectures consists of her straight talking at you with a PowerPoint. So boring, I wanted to skip everyday. Her syllabus outlines are long and clear but she changes things up all the time and is annoying particular on both group projects. I learned absolutely nothing.

She is the absolute worst. Grading and expectations are only listed in the syllabus and she does not talk about it in class. Seriously the worst professor on this campus.

Would not recommend this professor to anybody. The final project has ridiculous guidelines that are almost impossible to meet. The final project also consists of the students teaching the class for the last part of the semester. She is super confusing and doesnt answer questions clearly.

She seems nice and like a good professor throughout the semester, but she will GRILL you for the final project. You can work as hard as possible and still be lucky to get a C. You're graded on several exams, two presentations, and participation (including showing up to class).

Take a different professor is possible. She assigns a lot of online textbook work and changes dates without informing students. Tough grader on the final project and provided minimal feedback. Very lecture heavy and doesn't post notes or anything to study off of other than a vague study guide given to students in class

stay away! If you want to learn anything do not take this professor. She rambles all class about nonsense and reads directly off powerpoint. She expects way too much out of class that is based on common sense. The group projects are horrendous she expects your group to have a 30-40 minute presentation about three, one min clips. Do not take!

She kinda just talks about nothing the entire time. I honestly learned everything from the book. Follow her study guides and you'll be fine. She is very annoying about group projects though, very picky. She also will linger on slides in the powerpoint that don't matter and then rush through the slides you actually need.

Worst teacher I've ever had at GVSU. She talks for the whole class so done expect to get out early ever. Also takes point away if you are absent. Uses the powerpoint the whole time and goes threw them super fast. Would never take again.

Isn't much of a teacher. She relies on the online homework, which she doesn't create, and reads off power points for every single lecture. If you are able to do the online work on time and can handle sitting through incredibly boring lectures where you won't learn anything, she may be the teacher for you.

Decent professor but teaches right out of the book and off the slides. She is really frazzled and not confident in her knowledge at all. HW is all online assignments due at midnight which is really dumb.

She is very passionate and knowledgeable about this subject. Her lectures are never boring and always have lots of discussion. She incredibly sweet, but has very high expectations of her students and their work. Big group project over the course of the semester, but manageable. Very simple exams, but definitely need the textbook to pass the course
