I thought I failed this class at first. I had to spend a lot of time to get a B. It was the terrible time for me. The Tests are very difficult and it contains parts that are not in the Study Guide. Advice for those who are about to or intend to take this instructor. CHANGE YOUR MIND AND CHOOSE ANOTHER INSTRUCTOR.

Stokes is the worst professor I have had. I'm taking microbiology this summer with her and her material is hard and unorganized. She is a tough grader for no reason. I'm so lost and confused, nothing matches up from her pp and lectures. She we tell to read the chapter, but she never assign reading material, or tell you what chapter to read.

The course was confusing and overly complicated. She didn't care for us and had many strict policies that she wouldn't change.

The reviews are valid but that's not my experience. The material is difficult but she doesn't require much in depth knowledge. Lectures aren't great so you'll have to teach yourself some stuff but her tests are really not that complex. Her personality isn't great (per other reviews) but as long as you keep your head down and work, you'll get an A.

Bio is already hard enough, but ms. Stokes made it so much harder. She could say 1000 words but not teach a single thing. Horrible at explaining and hates when you ask questions. She rolled her eyes at me multiple times because I asked questions. She acts like a middle school teacher and treats her students as such. She's rude and so unprofessional

I liked how she offered extra credit at the end of the semester by letting us do study guides those extra points help! She always responded to my emails in a timely manner. She reads from the PowerPoint but the textbook is a great help. The quizzes can be rough and confusing. Give yourself time on the unknown bacteria project she grades it tougher

You should avoid taking Ms. Stokes because she makes an already difficult subject (Microbiology) and makes it even more difficult. Her class was not ready on the first day of school, she tests on material she doesn't always cover in lectures, tests on (in my opinion at least) insignificant details, and it's a toss-up if she will answer emails.

If you have to take this class online due to the pandemic, please don't. The syllabus is all over the place. She doesn't respond to emails in a timely fashion. She reads straight from the powerpoint and does not elaborate much on certain points. I found myself outsourcing/ teaching myself the material . Comes across as very lazy.

Please take the time to review each instructor before enrolling in this course. I would hate for anyone to get stuck with her and not be aware of what theyre signing up for. She is by far the worst instructor Ive ever had at CPCC. Very lazy, unorganized, and not resourceful. You will have to advocate for yourself and make her do her job!

I took her for this Spring, and Microbiology is hard subject so get ready for the class. I don't think you can survive in 4-year college if you cannot handle this course well. Since quizzes were everyday (write down all the quizzes; that's going to be the exam) I must admit it , tests are hard, but she's a fair grader and plus extra credits QS's!!

Dont take this class! She is a nightmare! Worst professor ever! When you ask for an explanation she will just read her ppt to you, no further explanation. She is super disorganized with her schedule and class in general. Lazy! You will be stressed out all the semester!

Not a great professor not a good professor! And I am concerned that she may have graded some differently than others in the class. I would NEVER take another Stokes taught class. If you are normally an A student, you will be lucky to get a B in this class

She is a funny teacher. What you see is what you get with Stokes. She loves her micro organisms and knows her stuff. My only issue with her is there is no back button on her online quizzes. I do not think its a fair test when you cant change your mind.

Her tests are extreamly unreasonable and no amount of studying will help because the questions do not make sense and because she does not explain the information clearly. She is the worst teacher I have ever had at Cpcc.

She is the worst teacher I have ever had at CPCC. She gives you 25 questions, no multiple choice, on the PowerPoint in just 30 minutes. She doesn't know how to teach. She doesn't dress professionally.

Terrible instructor. Tests rarely match what was taught in class. Doesn't like questions at all. I wish I had known and would suggest you take another micro lab instructor.
