Reading the chapters assigned before the lectures is really helpful but not essential. Between reading and attending class, go to class. No matter what just read the actual myths and not the analysis.

He was a very quiet lecturer, but he got a mic eventually so that helped. He has a clear passion for what he teaches and it shows through in his work. His lecture structure can be a bit messy at times, but if you pay attention you should be able to follow along. Overall he's very kind and very passionate, I liked his class a lot.

Dr. Cohen is a great teacher of ancient verse; he's funny, personable, and always willing to discuss class material. While I have no real complaints about his teaching, I recommend sitting in the front, as he has a tendency to get quieter as his sentences progress, making him difficult to hear. Also; most of his readings are at least 20 years old.

Professor Cohen is a great prof. He is really helpful and will answer your questions. He even did one on one tutoring for me because I couldn't attend the other sessions. He is a very patient man and expects you to do your work. You will be called on in class so you can't duck the work. He's pretty funny too. Would take more of his classes

Imagine a prof forgot to organize their lecture in advance , popped 6 Xanax and decided to monotonically spit out random elements of information they sporadically remember whether or not it being relevant to the topic (if there even is one) EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Was optimistic heading into Cohen's first year Greek Myth class, but finished very disappointed. The guy stands in the corner of the class mumbling to himself, I can barely hear him, and his lectures have no structure what so ever. His assignment rubrics are also very general and end up costing points. Overall, a bad prof. Pretty unfortunate.

I think this guy is my favourite professor on campus. His dry humour is absolutely hilarious and he clearly knows his stuff. When he reads ancient languages its mesmerizing. I ended up never wanting to miss a class.

He was all over the place with his teaching and often got off topic. I found him funny, but at the same time not useful as a prof. He marks weird, watch out for grammar! Exam is not easy. Read all the required reading!

Easy to approach, grades fairly and has a good sense of humour. Tends to have slightly boring lectures but makes links with modern elements which is interesting. Overall great prof!

A relatively dry lecturer. What should have been a fascinating course turned out to be disappointing and boring. That said, he had some clever approaches to teaching the material (creative assignment; incorporating movies, plays, songs, and even a Star Trek episode). Not a hard marker and genuinely nice, just not a fantastic lecturer.

He's a good guy, but it's just impossible to keep on track with him. He trails off halfway through his sentences and talks very monotone. But it's so amazing when he reads excerpts from texts or something that he loves, then he's one of the most interesting professors ever. I wish he was like that all the time.

Dr. Cohen does go off on wild tangents, but it's the sign of someone who is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He was a tough marker, but fair. In the end, I probably enjoyed his classes the most among the Classics courses I took.

I enjoyed Gods and Goddesses a lot, it was really interesting for me even though I personally knew a lot about Greek Mythology before. Dr. Cohen also seems to enjoy bringing multimedia into his lectures: we listened to music and watched videos. A very fun class and prof.
