Comment:
extremely convoluted lectures. jumps from point to point (some of which are irrelevant) which leads to extreme confusion and lack of direction. very unclear grading criteria. if you love yourself, even if just a little bit, avoid at all costs.

Comment:
Not a good class. The lectures had little content and 3 hours could be summarized in 5-7 sentences. You will fail the class if you don't buy the textbook as the whole course is structured around it. The marking is unclear with little feedback. Exam is difficult and instead of giving back the grades to the students, he submitted them to the dean.

very very boring class. it says it is a law class (3305) but all his posted lectures for laws 3305 are from his hist3305 class. he is all over the place, no lecture slides and you really have no idea what's going on. the textbook is not interesting at all and doesn't really light up with the class material. also, only 50% essay and 50% exam

Barry is a very nice guy! This class is tough so I highly suggest going to every lecture. There are two essays and a final, so memorization is not a huge factor. Take your time on the essays and pay attention and you'll do great!

Super nice guy, really loves to teach. Only 2 essays, final and participation that counts. The textbook is written by him so he does a really good job and explaining it so you understand. Took law in grade 11/12 and it was very similar, but other classes were different.

says the textbook is mandatory, but I did not read the textbook and still did well. His lectures are dry, but if you like the subject you should be fine. Final exam is 100 MC, worth 50%, and done in two hours. A lot of it closely related to his slides, however, there were some seemingly unrelated questions. The essays are easy super easy

worst prof I have ever had in uni. Exam is worth 50 percent, 100 multiple choice questions where only half of them correlate to the lecture abstract. You only have two hours to write it. Stay away!

One of the most boring lectures I've ever attended. He doesn't elaborate off of his notes and spends the entire lecture talking about the same 3 things. He says that he bases his final exam (which was worth 50% of our grade and was 100 multiple choice questions) solely off of his lecture notes which was untrue. Definitely avoid!!!

Prof Wright is a really nice and knowledgeable prof. His lectures are really dry but its not a hard class. He wrote the textbook so his lectures are the exact same as the book. Had 2 essays that were super easy and the final is 100 mc questions (50%) but a lot of the questions on the exam are given to you in tutorial! Make sure to go to tutorial!!

He is such a great guy. The only thing that I didn't enjoy is that he doesn't use any powerpoint, he shows a Word document in front of the class and then explains it. He really knows what he's talking about and uses a lot of technical words and it can be harder to understand the material if English isn't your first language or you're new to Laws.

Allright, long story short, a graduate of 2004. I remember he gave wonderful classes, it was the only law class that I didn't fall asleep, and I went to him after class for more information and discussion, he was patient with me. All and all, a very good prof.

Barry Wright is a great professor, and he does constantly repeat himself which is great for the final exam. The only con I would say is the 50/50 grade allocation, however other than that, if you put in the work and do the readings, you have nothing to worry about.

Barry Wright is an excellent professor. He loves his topic, and repeats himself over and over. Why is that good? Because the final exam has you repeat back all the information from his lectures, and by then, you know it well (if you attended lectures). Very interesting class. I recommend it.

Very smart man but expects his students to know what he knows which makes for very tough marking. Very nit-picky on essays and exams. Nice guy who means well but uses words nobody knows and makes lectures very difficult to follow, also very hard to tell what's important and what's not.

Very smart but is extremely arrogant and tries to put on a show by using big words that no one can understand. Extremely useless trying to pay attention in class because he will ramble in old English to come across as smarter than he actually is.
