Very arrogant and snobby, often bragged about his art abilities, very boring and over-complicated lectures, would often leave for the entire class. Be prepared to spend a large amount of your own money on project materials throughout the semester. Each project is very difficult and will take countless hours both in and outside of class to complete.

Honestly I've had a little trouble in the class; I am paying attention, and remember the material, but when it's time to take the test I forget almost everything. But I did sit down with me to help me better understand the stuff if I needed him to. The only reason why I took this class was because I needed it for credit hours.

TAKE HIM. The first day I was like "who is this cocky professor and why did he lecture for 2 hours on syllabus day?", but then he completely grew on me. His lectures are fantastic. He makes it seem like he's a hard grader but as long as you complete his assignments and follow his advise you pass. Just an excellent teacher.

Matthew is an amazing professor! I didn't realize how much there was to know about art. Good news, no book needed! With that being said, he is your textbook and you will need to show up to class for the material. It was difficult for me to write about art but he is more than willing to help. Loved him, would definitely take another class of his.

Matthew has a nice sense of humor that made the hour and forty minutes fly by. He does require you to attend every class because "he is the text book." I would highly recommend taking him if you are a beginner. He explains things every well. I can't wait until drawing two with him.
