Just go to Fredericton, as simple as that. The online exam is worth 70%, had 75 multiple choice/ matching/ true or false questions in 29 minutes. The other online math part was either the right answer or wrong. Lectures were useless and I had to read the textbook for the whole semester to even have an idea of what I was doing.

I thought that CS 1003 with Jeff was bad, but this really puts the cherry on top. Ken couldn't hold a midterm in person because of COVID so he made the final exam worth 80%. He gives weekly quizzes which are nothing like the assignments and are extremely hard. FIRST YEARS: go to Fred, DO NOT waste your tuition money staying here with this guy.

He is past his prime. Weekly online quizzes that are too difficult, lectures where he reads straight from WileyPlus textbook slides, no examples. Might as well not go to class and just read the textbook (which you have to do anyway.) He couldnt hold an in person midterm because of COVID, so he made the final worth 80%. Worried I might not pass.

DO you want to learn chemistry because you won't from this clown. This class is the reason why you should be allowed to pick more than 'three tags to rate your professor. I could have also chosen test heavy and lots of homework. He doesn't treat this class as a chemistry class but more like a 'learn to read and push buttons on a calculator class'

If this is the quality of teaching I'm getting for 10 grand a year, I think I'll go somewhere else. This man is a disgrace of a professor and it is impossible to respect someone that shows absolutely no respect for his students. Avoid any classes from Ken Sollows at all costs. 1st years- go to Fred before it's too late. Don't make the same mistake.

Awful Prof. Awful course. Have fun reading over 1000 words from a textbook and having to puke out every detail from every chapter on the final (online) exam.

CHE2501 is a calculation and problem-solving based class. Not one problem was ever shown on the board. The lectures are useless but necessary to attend because your scale is based on the 12 RANDOM times attendance is taken. He doesn't care how well you perform, he just encourages you to be better than the rest of the class. This is the worst class.

If you are bestowed the misfortune of taking one of this poor excuse for a professor's class, you may as well learn how to climb a tree from a rock. Class average of 14% on the final exam. He's condescending, rude, and unhelpful. I've never been more sad in my life. I wish bad things to happen to this man :(

Worst professor I have ever had in my life. Be prepared to learn absolutely nothing. This class is a complete waste of time and the university should be embarrassed to have someone like this teaching it. He is proud of the fact that many people fail this course. I went into the exam with over a 100% and somehow came out with a B-

Congratulations Ken Sollows! You proved that you are much smarter than your second year engineering students. A very lazy prof whose lectures are next to useless and all evaluations are done online which is unheard of for a calculation based course. Avoid at all costs, and good luck if you are in mechanical hahahaha.

The lectures were not very useful, they would be better if he showed how to solve the problems rather than just read slides to you that were provided by the publisher. I would like to see a little more effort from Sollows moving forward. The textbook was great and the reason why I am doing well.

Pretty sure this class destroyed my soul in some ways. We saw less than 10 worked problems in class throughout the whole semester, so yeah. What made it really weird was our online quizzes that were basically on guessing which weekly sig-fig-of-the-week theme it was. He didn't really put much effort in (he was banished from my favorite prof list!).

No hate for Dr. S. He is a very nice man and he very friendly when he sees you in the hall. Really funny in class. The graphics portion of ENGG1013 however made me want to cry. Too much to do for only a portion of the course (daily sketches, assignments that take hours with software you can only use at school, quizzes)... thankful im not in mech!

If you are thinking of going into Mechanical Engineering at UNBSJ, you will be getting this jerk for many of your courses. Either go to UNB Fredericton, or choose another school. This man is a horrible professor, impossible to deal with, and sets unreasonable standards. You will learn NOTHING! Is this what you want in return for your tuition?

I'm not sure what the teaching requirements of a professor are, but a ****en hobo with a textbook could do better. Atleast the hobo would know to teach you what you need before you need it. And if you asked the hobo a question, the hobo would try to answer. Sollows, wouldn't. He might know his stuff, but if he can't teach it, it means nothing.

The worst teacher I have every had. He hates it when students ask him questions and expects you to come into the course knowing all the course material. His infinite laziness becomes apparent when writing his chapter quizes as EVERY question on the test is stolen from the text book's website. If you are considering engineering, avoid him if possibl
