Comment:
Average prof, not bad but not incredible. Very clear lecturer but sometimes was a bit boring. Ridiculous amounts of pre-reading every week. However, you could always get help if you needed it; if you wanted to succeed all the resources were there.

The prereadings are broad but in his lecture he gets right down to specifics and it is really jarring to understand and follow. You meed to really keeping up with your studies. His lectures are almost always very different from pre-readings sometimes in a good way and other times it is pretty irrelevant....

A really good instructor in my opinion. The material was a review of grade 12 bio for two sections and photosynthesis/metabolism for the third. If you keep up with the reading you'll have no problem in this class. He does stutter a bit, but he's a really kind and friendly prof.

Comment:
This prof was not a good lecturer. Most of the time, he has a lot of difficulty articulating some of the more complex ideas of this course. I highly suggest trying to get into another section if you want to feel even the least bit interested during lectures. Other profs came in to substitute a few times and conveyed the material in a better way.

The material can be somewhat dry at first, but as long as you follow along with the readings, you will do fine. He is very helpful, but can get sarcastic if you ask questions with obvious answers.

Not gonna lie, his class was the most boring of my classes. It was very hard to stay awake, especially since it was in wesbrook. But he knows his stuff, and if you keep up with the pre-reading you'll be fine.

I actually liked him. You should do the pre readings and you'll have no problem understanding what he says. I think he's ok at lecturing, not as bad as people are saying are here.

I think he knows his stuff really well, however he does not really know how to present and convey the material so that it really gets you.

Carl Douglas is very knowledgeable about the subject he teaches, but his teaching style was often hard to understand. Read through the text book and do all practice questions you can, his lectures wont help much.

Very knowledgeable but seems unable to communicate efficiently in lecture. He's a nice guy when you talk to him one on one but you're better off studying his homework and the textbook, than going to class.

Not a very interesting lecturer; monotone voice and it's easy to drift off. He knows what he's talking about but if you ask a question his answer will often leave you confused... To do well on the exams, take good notes in class!!

He is one of the nicest profs in Science One. He's getting better at teaching, but mumbles a lot during lectures. Should improve on teaching style because lectures were sometimes very boring. However, he tries and are always there to help. Teaches straight from the book, if you read you will do fine.

Taught first half of course. Mutters a lot in class. Tough midterm 1. A couple of questions on final related to stuff on second half of course - also hard. Notes are barely ok. Read text also.
