His lectures are well organized. He doesn't use slides during them so it is important to make class everyday. He has quizzes almost weekly, which are easy if you show up to class and pay attention. I enjoyed his class more and more as the semester went on, the subject was great and he is really funny.

At the beginning I thought this class was going to be boring. But as time passed on Ken seemed to get funnier and funnier. He makes the lectures interesting. There's no slideshows so being able to write good notes is important. The quizzes are easy to pass if you study for them in advance and you'll get a good mark on your essay if you work hard.

Very old-fashioned professor, he's a strict marker, but it's not that difficult to do well in his class. His lectures can be a bit long-winded and dry though, although my friends who actually like the topic seem to like his lectures a lot too. Either way, he writes down everything you actually need to know on the board, so it doesn't really matter.

Arrogant, hates answering questions, uses outdated language ('Man' for humans), doesn't listen to students, overexplains basic concepts, gets stuff wrong, quizzes are about memorizing largely-irrelevant facts instead of actual comprehension. Huge disappointment, drove me away from a class in one of my favorite subjects.

Ken is one of the best profs I've ever had. He will challenge you. He expects a lot. But if you put the effort in, come to every class, and work with him on your essay, he will give you a fair grade, generous even (he sure was for me). Be ready to work, but if you commit to the class you'll get one of the most enriching educational experiences

He's a funny guy and presents interesting material. My biggest beef with him is that he is not very clear about what he wants in weekly quizzes. Comes across as condescending, though I don't think he means to be. Be wary before taking a course with him.

Tough essay marker, relatively dull lectures. No mid term multiple small quizzes which all are based off of the readings in the textbook. Very intelligent man, knew his stuff for this class which is legal history of Canada.

Ken is an alright professor. his class is interesting not because of him but because of the content. His humor is so-so and gets old quick. He is however an intensely difficult essay marker. Even if you are a quality essay writer be prepared to get bumped down a notch as he expects Phd level writing from a two hundred level course.

I loved professor Leyton-Brown. He is extremely knowledgable and loves his subject. Uses several different stories from his life to spice up the lectures. Although, he is a tad dry, his humour makes up for it. Everything he writes on the board ends up on the his quizes. If you attend class regularly and study for his quizes you will do well.

He is a good prof. sometimes classes are a touch tedious and has a kind of snobish sense of humour but it makes class enjoyable. Has quizzes, these are not difficult if you memorize every detail of his lectures, he asks very specific information. Remember what he writes on the board. Think Sparta for the first quiz! Essay is not marked hard.

I am giving very serious consideration to taking all of the classes that he offers, even those in whose subject matter I have absolutely no interest. Dr. Layton-Brow is an amazing prof, able to make the dryest subject matter enjoyable. Kept me on the edge of my seat while describing the early political history of Athens. Amazing.

The class was Ancient Rome and Greece, and he was very knowledgeable. He was intelligent and articulate. And as an added bonus he is supperr hilarious. Note: If he writes something on the board, take note! It will be on an exam and is important to remember. This class isn't a cake walk and there is alot to remember but overall is enjoyable.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! He is organized, and very knowledgable. If you attend class, there's no need to read the textbook and he's a fair marker. I would definitely take another class from him- he is an incredible professor!

I enjoyed his class. He obviously knows a ton about ancient Greece and Rome and he did a great job of keeping it interesting. Just remember to make special note of any term that he writes on the board as they all appear in the quizzes and the final.

He is extremely knowledgeable in the areas of history he teaches. I took ancient greek and roman history from him, and i enjoyed going to his class. He has a good sense of humor, is extremely intelligent and clear in his teachings. Probably not the easiest marker, but if you enjoy history, he will motivate you to do your best. Highly recommended!

SOOO organized, and so smart. The lectures are organized so well, it's easy to take notes. And it's hard, but if you go to class and do the assigned readings, you can succeed. He expects a lot of research on papers, and marks pretty hard, but fair.

Ok. He's smart, brilliant even. Lectures are interesting but a very hard marker. Despite it all, I don't think I could ever get over those socks in sandles. there is just something about him that frightens me and i can't put my finger on it. I would recommend him if you are NOT looking for easy marks. There's something about the socks and sandles
