Comment:
The worst professor in the department teaches the most difficult classes. Structured so the only grades come from extremely long exams he says are designed to make you think. Theyre designed to fail half the class. Theres no time to think. Takes weeks to mark these fair exams. Extremely unprofessional as well. Go to Douglas or UBC. Seriously.

I don't care what anybody says, I love big daddy Kev. He's so funny and he tried really hard to make the most of the online learning. The lab midterm was extremely fair but the lab final was a different story... Go to office hours to go over tests and ask questions about exams! They are very hard so you have to put the effort in

Oh, where do I begin? This course is one of the most difficult in the major as it is, and it does not get any better if Kevin is teaching it to you. I know that we are in the pandemic, but that is not an excuse to pre-record some lectures and give rock samples that look like nothing we have seen in class. Avoid this class and prof.

he's a nice guy but I thought I was taking an easy science course. Halfway through the semester I was expected to identify 30 rocks in an hour. tests are hard and lab tests are even worse. do not take this class if you're looking for an easy pass.

During this quarantine, he has only provided us with lecture slides. He has not given any online lectures nor, office hours to contact him. I cannot believe he is allowed to go ima for half the semester.

Fairly average professor. He seems interested the topic, but his lectures were a little on the dull side. I did not use the textbook, however, the Lab Manual is a must.

This prof is pretty good, he's funny and has interesting lectures. However, the course content is a lot. There's a lot of hands on work and not a lot of time to fully understand everything. I barely spoke to this prof but he tried to help us as much as he could. If you need a science credit and you're a hard worker, give this one a try!

This prof is a real gem, he always says dad-jokes during his lectures, which makes them mote interesting. I would recommend attending every lecture because he always lets you know which stuff is going to be on the midterm/final (which really helped with studying)

Great Prof! He does make his exams based on his lecture so if you skip... I would not recommend it. It is easy to fall behind. His lectures tend to be heavy but he is hilarious so it makes up for it. Will not bore you.

Fine professor. Does not post lecture slides but posts other Word document notes that are not stimulating to read. DO NOT ASK HIM QUESTIONS - do your own readings, ask the TAs, or use GOOGLE. He does not answer your questions and is a bad listener: very condescending. To study use the Word documents and Google terms to get pictures.

Great professor! I really enjoyed his lectures and he has very relevant experience and stories to share that really contribute to the learning of the course materials. He even brought in things like drill heads and mineral samples to show us what the real world is like! Definitely take it but make sure you're interested in the course!

Very likeable/funny guy- makes lectures a lot more interesting to attend. It's a science course with a lot of terminology, so expect a fair bit of notes. His exams aren't that difficult, but overall I felt you still really either got to study hard or need a passion for Earth Science to get a good mark.

Very cool prof for his exams just study memorize his online notes and you're guaranteed a B. Maybe 8 pages of so per chapter so its not that hard. Labs you either do well or you don't. I guess I got it so i got 90's on both lab exams. Don't buy text book b/c everything is covered in his online notes.
