Comment:
Easily goes on tangents, too many examples(poor ones), teaches with the mindset that we already know what he's talking about, uses terms and language not taught in the course., no proper solid explanation of concepts, poor communication skills, by the books teaching/skimming over key details, mid grammar skills, repeat/disordered related content.

if you have a very big class, get ready for multiple choice exams. he also talks about current events during the first part of most lectures and those are testable so you should probably show up to class. i find the text is optional; theres some questions that arent covered in lecture in the text but theres not a lot.

Comment:
This class is boring in general, and I found the midterm and final relatively hard. The final exam is worth 50% of your overall grade which is rough! However, Brooke himself was a decent prof. He is a successful man with business experience. He gave in-class time for group projects which was nice. Read the textbook and come to lectures.

Brooke knows what he is talking about and will explain using examples so it is memorable. Although the class content is very tough, he teaches it very well and always has his lectures on blackboard. He also always talks about current events, so attendance is mandatory.

Brooke Dobni is a great prof. He has valuable real world experience, gives clear instructions, great feedback, is kind, polite and businesslike. Not only is Brooke a great prof, but he is a stellar person too. His real world examples and experience provide valuable insight, don't be afraid to pick his brain and ask questions.

Lecture slides are straight from the textbook. Attend class for the current events that will be on the midterm/final. Intelligent man but shouldn't be teaching intro courses.

Brooke is a nice guy, but a very boring professor. I found myself zoning out a lot in his class and relying more on the Comm101 textbook. He rambles on about his business and gets off topic often. More often than not, he will spend 1/3 of the class talking about current events. If you have Comm101, take it with Case and not Dobni.

Comment:
He seems like a really nice guy but he cannot teach an introductory business course to save his life. He rambles on consistently in every lecture and cannot seem to get his point across. I haven't really needed to use the textbook because he seems to pack all the info into his lecture slides, which he provides. Too boring and too much rambling.

Very clear and knows what he is talking about. The class itself is not extremely exciting, although since its a core class he is the best to take it from. Do not take it from Drummond. Horror stories.

Easy class, almost boring in nature. Dobni made it all worth while. Lots of stories from his own experiences in the field, and explained everything very well. Definitely not a sleeper.
