Pretty easy class if you ask me. Tests are a slice o cake if you can manage to understand what he is getting at. Definitely a difficult course if you have not dealt with critical art theory before.

Comment:
This class is useless; he uses like 4 case studies back up his theories then expects you to believe them. The class is 3 hours, and he holds for the FULL 3 hours even though he could give the whole lecture in about 20 min. By time class starts, everyone is surfing the web. Open laptop midterm and take home final are easy if you get a good TA.

This guy is such a big shot. If you read his writings and work, he really is one of the greats in his field. The problem is, he does 3 hour REALLY BORING lectures and REQUIRES ATTENDANCE. Basically, if he didn't require it, nobody would show up. I just show up at the end and sign the roll sheet and still have a B+/A- in the class. It's really easy.

Listen to everyone's advice about this class: It's absolutely terrible. The in class midterm was lame in that the TAs grade them. If you end up unlucky like most people, your TA will be just as lost and will be a punk when they grade your midterm and final. Avoid at all costs. This class is such a joke; what a waste of time.

I still don't understand what this class is about. TAs seemed lost as well. Speech hard to understand, often wanders off topic, uses lots of buzz words without explaination. Examples are vague or seemingly irrelevant. In-class essay mid term was terrible. Seems like he talks just to hear himself talk. Monotonous droning voice. Would not take again.

very thick accent, low monotone voice. it's hard to take good notes in his class even though i was close up front. little confusing. makes us read his works. first test was answering short answers and essays. it was open notes. Final was two 4-5 page essays. boring class.

I don't remember a THING from this class, even though the guy sat a foot away from me at the seminar table. I constantly had to kick myself from falling asleep. He has a tendency to look at the ceiling when he talks, mumbles, and doens't really know how to interact with students.

He doesn't care about his students at all. Completely arrogant and talks just to hear himself. His TAs don't care either...just there to suck up to him so watch out. On the two essay exams, just write as much as humanly possible and you'll be fine.

Nice teacher. May not understand material because the class is made up of visiting lecturers but grading is lenient. The class depends on the lecturer. Some are interesting, others are definitely not.
