Not very lucid, a brilliant deconstructionist. Would be great if it were critical perspectives on evidence law. Really didn't enjoy the lack of organization in the lectures ... in const - A, in evidence a C. Maybe only b/c it's first year teaching course

I found her teaching style in a class of 60 to be somewhat confusing at times but she was always willing and able to help outside of class time. She's excellent one on one. She has a genuine interest in the students and the material. Brilliant, personable and fun. Take a class with her!

She spoon feeds students by writing every ratio and 3 part test up on the board. She is quite down to earth, and makes the occasional joke that is funny. She doen't try to force left wing propaganda down your throat, and seems somewhat open to a small amount of variance in opinion.

So brilliant it's scary, and so engaged in the material it's humbling. A wonderful professor and a very cool lady. Don't expect anywhere close to an easy ride in her class, though -- there's no tolerance for b/s and she is a VERY tough marker, not afraid to fail people (believe me I know!).

She holds a high standard that is very difficult to meet, however, she is clear about her expectations. She is willing to devote an amazing amount of time to any student, providing direct and constructive (and humbling too) feedback and help. Amazing

An amazing prof who is very smart & engaging. Funny how male profs can talk all they want about their backgrounds, but the moment RM mentions the word "Harvard", all hell breaks lose. Admit it jealous jerks, RM is one of Dalhousie's finest! You

An amazingly bright person who has trouble realizing that many people just don't catch on as quickly as she does. She is much better in a small group / 1 on 1 setting than in a lecture situation. Good sense of humour and a great dancer.

brilliant and open-minded. great explanations of complicated law. warm and kind and never bragged about Harvard, writing the South African Constitution, clerking at SCC during the class I took-the complainers are jealous (and some are just woman haters)

Tough teacher with not a lot of tolerance for b/s. That said, possibly also the brightest professor at Dal Law, with a lot to teach the students who put in the hours in her class. Knows her stuff, not afraid to blast ya if you don't know yours.

She is arrogant and she is hard on you...until you prove that you are willing to work hard - then she respects you. She's very funny & very smart & people don't like her because she doesn't put up with their slacker b.s. She is amazing to learn from.

Comment:
Professor Murphy is patronizing to students. This is unhelpful as it creates an unnecessary tension in class. She is also an unreasonably tough marker, just for the sake of it, which is offensive. If you value your dignity, avoid this infuriating prof.
