This is the hardest I've worked for a grade in a while, but she makes it worth it. 2 readings/papers per week, 3 papers, 1 creative project, mandatory attendance. Inspirational, caring instructor; you can tell she wants her students to succeed & is there for them. Interesting material that'll change the way you see the world & live your life.

My second class with Lisa and she is just so incredible. Class is largely a discussion bases on readings done as hw. She allows discussion to get off topic as long as it remains productive and then she gently steers it back. She is an amazing woman and an amazing teacher and if it weren't for her i'd still have an undecided major

Weekly quizzes & homework in the Lab and graded on participation; 4 media quizzes, 4 lecture quizzes; bi-weekly group projects that are a joke; pretty good lectures; quizzes are phrased to be tricky rather than clear-cut answers even if you study; very quick with grading, will respond via email very promptly; overall? "Meh." DON'T buy the book!

Any Professor that has her own book and articles as required reading is complete ass. She constantly berates students when they disagree with her opinions and her assignments are insulting to students' intelligence. I would never recommend her to anyone. AVOID HER.

I have taken several biology courses in the past and this was by far the most relaxed and easiest course I've taken. It is not fun to be in Hoffman but she made the experience enjoyable. Her examples made learning much easier, and she is very nice. I would recommend taking a course with her particularly if you have a science credit to fulfill.

Lisa's class is relaxed and informative. My only critique is that the notes provided in lectures (and online, which is great) I can only describe as ADD. Bullet points are short, unorganized thoughts, which can make things a little difficult come open-note-quiz time. Still, Lisa's a cool, eccentric bio teacher as others have posted.

She has clear lectures and expectations that if you follow, you can get an A. If you go to class and take notes you will ace the tests. She's not great at responding to emails, but is easy to track down during office hours if need be.

I'm not a science major, but taking the fundamentals of biology made me enjoy science. Lisa does an excellent job of catering to all types of learners. Instead of doing written tests we participated in 'deliberative democracies' about current science issues and the only tests in the class were well written online quizzes that we had an hour for.

She's cute and funny in the professor way. Probably the best professor for non-bio majors needing their science requirements fulfilled. Its not just lecture, but debates over 3 topics called deliberative democracy. It was a fun way to change things up

This is a incredibly interesting class. Dr. Weasel had enormous knowledge pertaining to the subjects discussed in class and she makes learning Genes and Society fun. Work load is not intense at all. Just come to class, do all writings (they're not bad at all, and TA's there to help you), you'd most likely get an A

Wow what a disappointment, this instuctor cultivates **** stereotypes and is unclear about due dates. She makes a interesting topic lame with her attempts at a social analysis that are feeble and half-baked. Do youself a favor and dont take this university studies course, if you have to take a class from her take intro to bio.

Learned a lot from this class. Beginning of term is a little slow (for non-bio majors) but gets interesting pretty quick. Go to class, get help from the writing assistants and meet requirements on your papers and you should have an A. Not too intense.

Took her for Genes and Society. Extremely interesting class. Coming from a biology background, she presents the social aspects of all genetics. Highly reccomend this class for anyone! An easy A in upper level biology class. Many times I wrote the papers the night before..still managed an A. Just attend class!

This was a great class with minimal note taking. Keep up with the reading and be prepared for class discussions.. I liked that the TA's were from the writing center. This class improved my writing skills and encouraged me to think critically about taboo science topics

Very upfront about what is expected of you. She covers everything in outline. You will not pass this class if you do not attend lectures and study! Not like this should be a suprise but this class was one of the hardest I have had in 4 years of school.

What a great introduction to Biology! She was a great teacher, her study guides were awesome, her lectures weren't boring. The tests were very close to the material and her study guides. If you are at all a bit concerned with Biology, I recommend this teacher! She won't make you regret it.
