The lectures are very information-heavy, but he is very clear on the key terms and concepts to understand. He's a great lecturer and regardless of what we were covering, he communicated it in a way that I found everything really interesting and didn't have trouble following along. Expect to pay attention and follow along on lectures.

I took 121 pages (28 000 words) of notes for his class. If you enjoy writing notes for hours on end, then you'll love his class. If you miss ONE class, you risk failing. Would not take again.

Robert was hands down the worst professor I have ever had. If you have accommodations, don't bother taking his class; you will get 0 extra help. I tried to challenge a mid-term, and he didn't get back to me until I contacted his faculty. I dropped the class and got half my money back because the deans agreed how condescending and rude he was. AWFUL

It's a very heavy class, All the midterms and finals are straight essays. No MC whatsoever. Be prepared to write a lot if you take this class. Lots of reading from textbook and note taking during lectures needed. He is a very tough marker and his lectures are very monotone and boring. I found the content interesting but lectures are horrible.

Extremely knowledgable and passionate. Great lecturer. Mark is based on performance on two midterms and a final composed of essay questions. Heavy on the note taking. But overall, a fascinating course to take.

The lectures are very heavy and you have to be ready to write but it is worth it! Most knowledge I have gotten out of a soc course and he is a very interesting prof. Midterms are essay but if you pay attention to buzzwords and show you know what the mean you will get a good grade. Amazing prof overall!

Here's some insight about his online classes: His lectures are heavy but very detailed -straight to the point. He puts in the important keywords in the chat box, so we can all follow. Can't tell you how helpful that is. Exams are a different story. His exams are always essays, but just study and get familiarized with the key terms, &you'll be fine.

Always made class interesting. He did his lectures almost like he was performing on a stage which I enjoyed. 1 paper, 1 midterm and a final exam. He makes sure you are prepared for exams - tells you exactly whats on it and no surprises. He gives specific instructions for the paper and exams. Easy credit. Would recommend.

His lectures were good and he clearly know what he is talking about but Roberts weird way of grading exams makes it incredibly hard to get a good mark. You must attend class, he does not accommodate if you miss and he is no help if you ask questions via email. Refused to put text on reserve at library because he believes we should have to buy it.

Not a terribly hard class but the midterm is sort of ridiculous. There is simply not enough time to properly answer his questions. There's also a 10 page paper but isn't that hard to do well on. He's also probably the most arrogant professor I've encountered in university yet.

-he tells you the subject of exam questions (which are all essays, so try not to take the M/W/F 50 min class, because you will run out of time and it's a tough grade scale) -DO NOT SKIP or you will fail because it is mostly lecture based and he doesn't use slides or URcourses, also i would suggest taking notes on a computer because he goes quickly

Robert's lectures are very interesting and he is passionate about what he teaches, but you have to be ready to write down everything he says word for word. He only uses essay question tests and he doesn't even mark them the TA does and they have a master copy of what he's looking for and if you don't basically have it the exact same, you will fail

Doesn't use UR courses, and the lectures are super heavy. It's an interesting class, but not one you want to pick to be your last class on a long day. It's very intense. He's a tougher grader, and the assignments are weighed heavy. But he's interesting to listen to, and explains things really well. There's a 10 page research paper, so plan well.

This class was terrible. Would definitely not recommend this class as an elective. You have to regurgitate all the information he says in class (on broad topics) or you will not do well. The midterms and finals are only essay questions and it is almost impossible to bring your grade up if you do bad on the first midterm. 10/10 do not recommend!

He is the worst professor. If you are taking sociology as an elective and you desire to better your gpa score then i must say he would be the wrong choice for you unless you like the old fashioned method of teaching because he would never post any materials on u r courses and would make it more difficult for you. i am regretting

Don't take Robert's class if you're looking for an easy elective. It's difficult to do well because so few things are graded, the midterm and final require you to regurgitate all the lecture notes and readings in a history timeline fashion. The first two thirds of the class was good but he has outdated research, especially on exercise + vaccines.
