Professor Constantelos goes out of his way to be available for and help students. His assignments and exams are tough, but he definitely doesnt want to see you fail. All of his assignments have been purposeful in my learning experience. I am grateful to have had his light hearted jokes and expertise the last semester before graduation.

Comment:
Professor Constantelos is very knowledgeable about the material he is teaching, but there are not a lot of opportunities to participate in class, most of the class is just filled with lectures. Which is okay, but I personally learn better if the professor challenges me to think and participate during class.

I took prof Constantelos for both PLS 315 and PLS 221 and he was a great professor. He assigns lots of reading and loves simulations, but overall I felt he really knew what he was teaching and you can learn a lot from him. It doesn't take too much effort to get an A as long as you keep up with the readings and assignments. Lectures a lot.

John is a really smart and genuine professor. He's not too tough on his students, just be sure to communicate if you have to miss a lecture. 221 was a really fun class overall and you will learn a lot if you stay engaged!

Within the field of International Relations, Professor Contantelos is hands down the most qualified professor at Grand Valley. He is extremely intellectual. Classes are mandatory, but he gives 2 free absences. The schedule is very structured, with three books and a relatively large research project. Take him, he will make you smarter.

Hes a good professor, although for the most part class consisted of lectures. The homework wasnt too hard it was mainly reading. Tests were all multiple choice except for the final which was multiple choice and an essay. If you study youre fine

Constantelos was extremely proficient in his field and knows what he is talking about. A lot of people complain about this course being too hard for a 100 level course but if you put in the work it is not hard to succeed. As long as you attend class, PAY ATTENTION, take copious notes, and do the readings you will be fine. Cool, funny guy too.

Professor Constantelos is a nice guy. He knows so much about the EU, and European politics more generally. We read a couple of his own articles (very interesting), though the class readings mainly came from one textbook. He is very accessible outside of class. He is very willing to help and do all that he can to help you succeed!

Excellent professor. A little bit too much group work (two lengthy writing assignments), in my opinion. Lectures are very interesting. Assigned readings from an edited volume on European politics were supplemented with readings from news outlets. Go to his office hours; he is very helpful. Definitely worked for my grade.

Professor Constantelos is a great prof with tons of experience in his field. He's super knowledgable and very friendly. I would definitely recommend going to his office hours if you take this class, because it will definitely help. As a political science major I really enjoyed his lectures, although I can see how some people who aren't might not.

By far the worst class I have ever taken. He made it way harder than it needed to be. It was a 100 level class but treated like a 300 level class with unrealistic reading assignments every night. He does not go over any of the reading in class but you will be tested on it. If you are not a PLS major DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

This is by far the worst class I have ever taken. He is not clear with what he is trying to teach and when you ask him questions he answers with "What do you think?" If you don't understand politics or have any interest in being a politician, do not take this class.

I have had him for several classes and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. He is incredibly nice and helpful. Always willing to help people who need it. A lot of people complain about the amount of ready--its pretty average for a university class. He doesn't baby his students the way some do, and thats one of the reasons he's my favorite.

Professor Constantelos is a very nice guy. However, he struggles with being clear with what he is looking for when things are assigned. The exams are a little difficult and this class requires a lot of reading. His class lectures are a little boring and can go over frequently, if you are a visual learner then I would not recommend this professor.

Constantelos is a genuinely nice guy and he is passionate about this subject. But this class was so much harder than it needed to be. Thankfully the tests were 100 level tests. If you study, you'll do fine. Lots and lots of reading. He doesn't think so though. Definitely not a blow off class, but a nice guy.

Professor Constantelos is a really nice guy and is extremely passionate about politics, but he teaches this class like a 300 level class. He assigns a lot of reading that is very boring. His tests are very difficult as well. Grade breakdown: 3 exams and a group project make up your semester grade. Probably would not take him again.

This class requited a lot of background knowledge of the world. If you are taking it just to fulfill a Gen Ed and you are not interested I suggest looking elsewhere. It was a lot of work and very hard to do because I had little interest in the topics. Lectures were really long and it was hard to take notes because he did not have presentations.

Comment:
Good note taking, basic understanding of the assigned readings, and regular class attendance will get you an A. If you want to learn more about the world, though, the grade should be inconsequential anyway. Prof. Constantelos is very intelligent. The work amount is normal for a 100 level class.
