Class was okay. Online this year the course consisted of 15 summaries due and then an argument paper, research paper/proposal and rhetorical analysis. The teacher was super sweet but the books in the course are about economics. Yet she is super helpful and tells you how to succeed and gives you a while to complete your assignments.

I don't recommend Lorette. She is very disorganized and doesn't mark any of your assignments until the very end. At times it feels as if she is teaching an economics class instead of an English class. The midterm and final are based on a book that is all about economics and very hard to comprehend if you don't have much knowledge in that area.

Didn't really teach us anything related to English 105. She was more focused on economics and business. Very unclear on her expectations.

Do not take this class, unless you feel like failing. she gives zero feedback on anything which is surprising given w got two paragraphs every week plus papers. sh loves economics so that is all you will learn about. very tough grader and is hard to reach outside of class time.

She is a terrible teacher. She made us read through dozens of word documents that no one had any idea why we were reading them. It's terribly unclear what she wants from you. She didn't teach us how to write she taught us how to theoretically solve the world's problems. Terrible teacher! WASTE OF MY MONEY.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS it is a waste of money and utterly disappointing. I took this class in hopes to improve my writing and further my English skills and instead I learned about economics and conspiracy theories. Every class is spent reading out loud and attendance is a must. Do not expect feedback or explanations for any assignments.

Really nice teacher. She is really old school and does not explain anything clearly and is very confusing with what is due in her class. Her lectures are really boring and are business related.

Amazing prof, I highly recommend her to anyone. Very easy marker, even tho there was 10 paragraphs due, if you did okay in english 12 youll be fine and you didnt even have to read the chapters, just skim them. She's loves giving extra credit and if you act that you know what youre talking about she loves you. Such a nice lady, such an easy class.

Her teaching style made her difficult to like. She seems like a very nice lady, is responsive to emails and other questions you may have. However, most assignments she assigns she does not even read. You have no idea if you're doing good or bad in this class until it is too late. She does not make assignments clear. I was frustrated the entire time

nice prof, but very confusing. dont expect to get your assignments back marked right away, says they will be back a certain day and ends up taking a extra week so you dont know how your doing in the class. boring lectures. expect summaries. worth it if your looking for a easy grade but super boring. docked 30 marks for missing a class out of 100.

Lorette is an extremely likeable and reasonable professor. She consistently gave everyone assignment extensions (with no penalty), and always clarified any uncertainties. Despite this people still whined about her class. Don't be afraid by the ratings here; If you're diligent and show that you care about her class you will do well.

One of the best instructors I've ever had. You have to be diligent enough to read on your own in this course to achieve a respectable mark. Classes are a breeze and help strengthen your speech, reading and comprehension of some rather difficult short stories and essays. The course material was just phenomenal. I highly recommend this professor!

Not a good teacher but thinks she is. She is obsessed with office hours but barely teaches anything in class. It is pointless to attend her class because all we do is read out loud to each other for an hour. She expects everybody to attend her office hours when we should be learning the material in class... strongly dislike her teaching style

Lorette is a nice lady, and a decent instructor. She can be a little bit unclear at times but if you ask to her clarify she will. She is very helpful outside of class; she is more than willing to provide you with additional sources and will even edit papers with you. HEADS UP: she loves to throw theories at the class so be prepared for that.

Expectations are highly unclear & she shows favouritism towards eager students who talk a lot; she's happy to fail you. I went to the writing centre x3 for 1 paper + 3 3rd yrs edited it, & she still managed to give me a C- on the paper. I aced English in high school. She doesn't critique work, she critiques you.

She is very unclear on assignments and gives very vague suggestions to improve writing. Often strays from syllabus and I feel like I haven't learned how to write at a university level as the course description suggests. Avoid her class!
