It is very clear that this man doesn't really care about anything as long as you understand the concepts. The syllabus said attendance would be taken into account and the last week of the course, prof said he couldn't care less. The grade is entirely 8 HW assignments and 3 exams. Easy if you understand the concepts, very very bad if you don't.

He is SO funny. MATH210 is just generally a nightmare of a class. No quizzes in his section which could be seen as a plus or a negative. Homework there is a solution manual in the lib and online for, so should be a 100%. The final was a nightmare but the first and second exam are good. Somewhere close to a 60% is a C- but it changes every semester

Professor Xiang is a really good professor for discrete. It is a really hard math to understand, but he gives good lectures and explains the ideas well. That being said, if you miss a lecture, a lot will be missed, but if you stick with it, you will understand discrete math fairly well.

He's a true mathematician not a teacher or professor. Study every problem in the book and pray that something similar at best shows up on the tests or final.

Not an easy class. HW every other week. Really takes much time to finish it. If whole class did not solve it, he will assign this problem again next week. No curve at all. Half of the class got B and below.

Lol at all the whiners on here. Qing is a genius and is a mathematician's mathematician. I am a mathematics grad student and I did not major in math and have never seen this material before. But I worked for many hours each day on the assignments and reviewing material, and I expect to receive an A. You don't do the work, you don't do well.

This class was very, very hard. You NEED to pay attention and do homework from day one. I attended every discussion and spent lots of time in office hours and doing work outside of the class. It's possible to pass and although it's very hard, you just need to be prepared to put in a lot of time. Make sure to stop by his office hours, he notices!

One of the clearest mathematic professors I've ever had. His discriptions and examples are ample and comprehensible. Extremely nice also. However, his class is difficult to say the least. Before quizzes and exams I'd spend 5 hours in the library with a Monster and the text just grinding through problems. Prepare to work.

Worst professor I've ever had, seems to derive pleasure out of making his students feel inferior. Class is impossible, avoid at all costs. I love math, am seeking my phd in it, but still hated his class.

He really wants students' understanding of the material so his pace is slow. Terribly behind that almost a quarter of the course not being taught and not in the final.

He is very nice guy. Although he will laugh if the class does bad. Apparently he thought the best score on a quiz which was 8 out 15(53%) was funny. However, if you go to his office hours, he will help you understand. Sadly, he only gives you 2 tests so not much room for mistakes. On the bright side, he recycles many questions your friends had

HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! This is the first class I had to audit. This professor sucks, hes a genius, but sucks at teaching. Never could understand a word he was saying and when I did understand it, that concept on the exam was IMPOSSIBLE! stay away from him. the university should reconsider him as a teacher.

Horrible. I am a dean's list student and this was the first class I had to audit. The class is very different than ordinary math. Xiang is hard to understand and often explains everything with an unclear example. He should just use everyday things. I cannot not tell you not to take him because there are like only two 210 profs and they are terrible

Hard to say about this guy. He's a genius, pretty much. He knows what he's doing. Only problem is he's a mathemetician, and he speaks in a different language then you and me. Only take this class if there is no other choice, and study study study and get help from others. His exams are very hard, but the homeworks he gives are very short.

He's not a very good professor. Class is boring because his teaching style sucks. Doesn't really care how you're doing in his class. The course wasn't as difficult as I expected it would be, but Dr. Xiang probably isn't the best professor to take it with.

He is the worst math teacher I've ever had. He doesn't teach, he just goes through proofs, no examples. Homework is all proofs too, but the test has actual problems on it, which you won't know hot to do. If you take his class, you better be good at learning on your own, and don't bother going to his office hours, because he usually doesn't show up.

He doesn't know what an example is. If you ask him to do an example of something he will show you a proof. Very hard to understand, not because he is chinese, but because he just talks nonsense. Tests = very hard. I'm getting a C in the class. I haven't gotten anything lower than an A in math since 4th grade. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS TEACHER IF AVOIDABLE
