Comment:
Mr. Garrity is a teacher who is very passionate about television production. He very obviously has class favorites and is biased towards them. He is very friendly and positive but doesn't tolerate you being late, and won't like you as much if you don't participate in class discussions. Even as a student he favored, it made class dynamics odd.

Dan's a good guys and you're lucky if you get to take a class with him. He really cares and is one of the few people who really make it seem like anything is possible.

You learn how to operate all of the studio equipment, practice live broadcasts, and learn some television history. He explains concepts quickly and has little patience if you do not understand it the first time. Because of this, he can be a little intimidating. There are three tests, a few projects, six written evaluations on television broadcasts.

Professor Garrity teaches with a unique sense of humor and SO inspirational. Sometimes his explanations are unclear, however. If you go to class and commit to trying new things and are passionate, you will do great. I think that students of all majors should take this class to expand their media proficiency! Love this class.

If you are really interested in television broadcasting, whether it is on screen or behind the scenes, Dan is your guy. However, he is not too clear on the technical aspects. He has a basic understanding of Final Cut but if you want to learn the more advanced stuff, you are better off experimenting on your own.

In any of his classes, if you are not 100-million-percent in love with television, never expect him to like you. He plays ridiculous favoritism, it's not even funny. He has extremely low tolerance if you don't understand his explanations. Expects perfection when there is no such thing. If you aren't thrilled about TV, better switch majors.

A really cool guy, tries to really get the kids involved. Very passionate but very strict with attendance and not very good at explaining how to use certain equipment. Otherwise, extremely funny, smart, and just an all around great teacher. Make sure you listen though, or you won't really understand how to use camera equipment, switchers, etc.
