I enjoyed this class at the beginning of the year, but towards the end it got harder (as do most classes). If you get tripped up at the beginning you're really gonna struggle towards the end of the semester. I got a tutor (which didn't help) but if you go to office hours you'll be fine. OH, and call her Prof McCourt... trust me. TOUGH CLASS! Study

She was good for an intro class, however because it was online, the class was difficult in terms of structure and getting help. She was available if you needed it, but sometimes hard to get a hold of. I'm sure she would be better in person, but she didn't really explain concepts, only the steps of solving problems. She was very fair on tests though

Really nice teacher and explains material well. Really enjoyed having her as a professor. She is really kind and caring. Had a little difficultly when switching to online.

I really enjoyed this class. I took her Chemistry and society 106A class. She is a brilliant lady. She sometimes moves through material very quickly, if you ask her questions in class or via email she is more than happy to answer them. I would love to take another class with her or just listen to her talk about the things she is passionate about.

I was nervous after seeing previous reviews. I struggled in HS chem and was worried about taking this course. Although she can be tough on her students she does it to make them understand the content better. Go to her office hours she really helps! She is a very nice and funny woman. Tries to have her students do their best and cares a lot!!

Dr. McCourt was a fantastic professor and I didn't believe that could happen in an online class! Very nice lady and responds to emails quickly. What you put into the class is what you get out of it. It's made up of readings, movies and essays but she gives you reasonable due dates and in the end, it was one of my favorite classes.

Dr. McCourt is amazing. She such a nice woman and always tries her hardest to make sure students understand. She moves through material faster than any other professor I've had, and I highly recommend a tutor for this class. Dr. McCourt is extremely accessible during office hours, which is great for when you need reinforcement on topics from class.

I absolutely love Dr. McCourt. She seems tough on the outside, but really does care about her students and is always available in office hours. She will really help you out if you are struggling. Also, she's absolutely hilarious--she makes an 8am more bearable. Very intelligent woman, would recommend her to anyone.

She is hands down the best professor at NU. I would recommend this class to anyone. Attendance is not mandatory but the class isn't boring and she is hilarious so you will enjoy the class. She makes chem actually enjoyable.

Excellent professor, difficult to understand sometimes but the more work you put into equation derivations the more you will understand. This class will take a lot from you but it is also extremely rewarding. Dr. McCourt will do anything within her power to make sure you pass, even if it means retaking the final exam after you've failed it.

CHE350B. Tests can be hard, she wants students to think beyond and apply already known concepts in different circumstances. She can be a tough grader, but will always answer your questions and help you out. Quiz's really help boost your grade. A wonderful professor. This class was an absolute pleasure to take with Dr. McCourt.

I dreaded taking chemistry, but McCourt made it understandable and sometimes fun. Her pace is fast, but she provided our class with endless opportunities to bring up grades and was always there for help. On top of that, she's absolutely hilarious and makes my morning better. I definitely respect McCourt and would take her again.

She is amazing. The best professor I ever have. Definitely should take her class. She prepares you well for test as well as fixing you in Chemistry. The longer you stay in her class, the more you understand chemistry. She had a great passion in what she is doing. She will give you grade as long as you know how to solve problems.

She really wants her students to learn and is very tough on her students for that goal. Don't expect any partial credit on tests. Expect to be badgered in front of your whole class until you figure out the answer. She's great at making you feel dumb and you might cry. Asking her for help is scary, but you have to try because she has good intentions

In the first half of the year I was not doing well-mainly because I wasn't trying. After I got my mid-term grade I met with her and she is so willing to help. Her door is always open. If you do practice problems, email her a photo of them. She will help you that way too. It's a wonderful class and she's an intelligent professor. Recommend taking

McCourt is an awesome professor! I have her for nursing chemistry and she's really willing to help her students. As long as you have an understanding of what is being discussed in class, you should do well. Your grade reflects your effort. Coming from a student that struggled in chemistry in high school, I'm actually doing well in her class.

This class is an 8am and if you even look like you're yawning she'll call you out. Always asks for students to give the next step in the problem being solved and doesn't take no for an answer she'll keep asking even if you say you don't know made a few girls cry. Very mean in class and grades based on her mood so you better hope your test is on top

Love McCourt!!! She is hilarious in class, very fast paced, and will call you out if you're not listening/not paying attention. She WILL help you at her office hours so go. Tests are short, her grading is a bit all over the place. Lots of quizzes. *you won't NEED to read the textbook for this class, but you can anyways and do problems.

Very dedicated to what she does. Teaches fast but is willing to help if you seek her help. Tests are difficult but she prepares you well. Very nice and personable and even funny.
