Comment:
I was a straight A student before this class. I struggled with health related issues quite frequently during the semester and he did not ONCE try to help me (even though I'd attach doctor's notes). Terrible professor. Makes everything much more difficult than it has to be. You're better off watching Khan Academy videos instead.

Phil is one of the worst professors I have taken at the University. It is clear that he does not really care for his students and doesn't care to see us succeed. Instead he does the bare minimum and praises himself in the process.

If I could give him a zero I would, he isnt a bad guy, but it really irritates me that he is unwilling to work with his students. His solution to every student's problems outside of the classroom is to withdraw and he has no issues with being blunt. he had told us multiple times how we were bad students if we didnt score high enough. Just kinda sad

I understand why a lot of students don't like him. Blanchard was always nice to me despite me not having the best grades in the class. I think that's because I would try to show I cared about my grade and putting in the work. He provides tons of practice for every chapter. You can get the grade you want just study an hour from day 1 to the test.

Just take my word and do yourself a favor and take this class with literally any other professor. He's condescending and rude. He rambles more than he teaches and manages to throw in a snarky comment for every lecture slide he presents. As if his attitude weren't enough he is able to take simple concepts and make them confusing. Awful experience.

Hands down the worse professor I ever had. He is doing future Eller students a favor by retiring. He is very condescending towards his students and has no empathy for us either. When students would reach out for help we are shut down and doesn't try to even help us but rather tell us to drop the class. Literally wanted to off myself because of him.

Thank you, Blanchard for retiring. You are doing future students at University of Arizona a favor. You think that a Professor would be more understanding during a pandemic, wrong. He is condescending and rude to his students. Last I noticed Professors were the rejects of the world who couldnt find a good enough job. Get off your high horse

Blanchard is the definition of white privilege and teaching during a pandemic really showed that. He expected everyone to be so attentive to lectures when a) it didn't count towards your grade, and b) you can watch the recorded lectures. He would talk down on students who he thought weren't bowing down to accounting. IM GLAD HES RETIRING. BYEEEEEEE

Everyone hated him so much in the fall 2020 semester. He can be rude and condescending towards his students. If you show you care, he'll help you. He provides so much material outside of the boring lectures. For each chapter we are given practice problems and walk-through powerpoint videos. It's really a matter of you taking studying seriously.

This class is HARD and the live-online format only made it worse. You have to work for your grade and will not be successful if you can't keep up. Professor Blanchard offers additional lecture videos from another professor and these videos are very helpful. His lectures are long & boring. Just be ready to work hard and you can do well.

Please avoid this professor if possible. He is not very sympathetic whatsoever. He responded to an email from a student asking a question with a one word response. He also blames us for not knowing material or the technical difficulties that have been going on in zoom. Try taking this class with a different professor if you can.

THIS DUDE BLOWS. He is actually the worst professor i have ever had. He does not even try to be a good professor. Makes us watch video lectures that arent even by him and expects us to sit through an hour of him rambling about whatever. He doesn't answer questions or offer to help people. I've never been so confused. Totally unsympathetic and rude.

Terrible teacher with little sympathy, especially during a global pandemic. Ridiculous standards and measures taken for testing. Rude on top of everything. He's also very monotone and you will constantly fight off sleep in his class. I only took him because he was unfortunately the only teacher teaching ACCT210. Avoid him if possible.

Probably the worst professor I've ever had. His voice is incredibly monotone, and you will need to FOCUS on his dull voice for a brutal hour and fifteen minutes. The tests are difficult and you will think to yourself "did I ever learn this?!?" No, you didn't learn it, unless you taught it to yourself. Good luck with this man, Im praying for you.

Okay, do not take accounting 200 with this professor. I came into the class knowing financial statements, and he somehow found a way to make them confusing. This is by far the worst class I have ever taken at the University of Arizona. Lectures are atrocious and he ramble about nonsense forever. Blanchard is incompetent.

I think the 3 financial statement homeworks are pointless because he never posts answer keys so even if you wanted to learn something from them you cant. Lectures are boring. He spends too much time talking down about people who dont show up to his class. I showed up almost everyday and barely learned anything because the lectures are so boring.

By far the most ineffective lecturer at UA. Spends at least 35 minutes each class droning on about "integrity" and how to use WileyPlus for HW. Nearly impossible to learn anything from this guy, oh and you're required to purchase a clicker, software, Wileyplus account & etextbook to even do HW. $200+ to not learn a damn thing from the guy

Comment:
The powerpoints he makes are exactly from the book so they're really useful, except he spends more time going over the problems instead of the material itself. This is a class you really to put effort into. Reading the book really helps. He is a nice guy though.
